This time I HAVE read the description of the sub closely, so I'll only uupload finished minis here.
And as a first I think it's a good idea to show of one of my latest minis that show how I have developed in style and somewhat in skill.
The mini from the past will be one of the marines of my homebrewn Iron Hands succecor-chapter. I was superproud of him, and still are, but there's quite a lot I've could do better. Create some contrast and interest for example:
And my Typhus. More contrast, a blade that I really like and a heavy hand on one highlight. In my mind it disturbs the mini, but the whole is, I dare say, quite good! Not competition-standard, but it's a mini that shows my progress as a painter and stands out quite well!
And for referens, the first Death Guard character I painted:
In my own mind that's quite a journey, and I'm still on it! Trying to improve is the best part for me in the hobby.
And full disclosure: the pics is processed in lightroom to make them accurate, but I haven't touched colours or any smoothing tools. Those times I do something for a more effectfull pocture I'll write it!
I already know what mini that will be showcased next, but that's for another day. Typing this in a phone is quite tedious...
Cheers!

Thanks a lot Skeleton!
Now I feel it's time to share another one of my pieces, the biggest single model I've finished: a Great Unclean one! This one took me longer than I really care to admit and the amount of different paints used is somewhat ridiculus...
But nevermind! It was shown on a warhammer show (one of the ones they stream), and for some reason they decided that the nails was the worst part. You be the judge!
Now when I look at it there are some parts I wished I'd done a bit different, but overall I'm pleased with him and the outcome. The face especially, but these pics doesn't show it all to well. It's a part of me now, and maybe I'll do another greater deamon one day!
Wifey had the "wonderful" idea that ,y next project should have been a greater deamon of slaneesh, but for once I was the one who said no...
Pics!
Some sticks and nurglings got to the base, that otherwise is a tad bland, but I learned a lot!
Cheers

Excellent!
What material did you use to raise the base?

Cork-plates from ikea, for pots and pans. They're awesome for basing!
And so it's time for another mini, and this time it's my sentinel!
I wanted to do one of these forever and show how nimble it is (according to the lore), but overall the kit doesn't show it well.
There's some parts that I'd do dofferently today, but the overall fell is exactly what I wanted!
Cheers!

I feel like the back leg is a little too far back, and overexaggerates the movement, but the rest is great! The belching smoke, muzzle flash, and base each stand out to me as eye-catching and the subtle staining of the main chassis really gives it some life. Quality model, can't wait to see more!

I get what you mean! It took me quite a while to land in this exakt pose, using references off different animals moving and it looked weirded with the leg more forward when I fiddled around. But I do plan to do another and see what I can do with the concept.
And big thanks for the kind words dude!

Sentinel looks awesome. I really like the birdlike clawed feet for this pose.
Would be great to see it put in a bigger diorama fighting perhaps some colourful foe like tyranids.

Haven't thought of it, but now that you say it... It can easily be worked into a diorama with the base! I'll just need to get some nids, and then I thing I'll try!
And so it's time to show of the next creation: My Leman Russ! The tank that is...
As a former guard player and current tanker I've despised the look of the LR for a long time. I mean, a tank that rolls around in 40 000 years that looks like a combo from WW1 and 2? Nah doesn't cut it!
I did something about it! Not a lot, true, but the turret is a bit bigger, tha tracks wider and the engine have room on mine! And most important: the tube is closer to an accurate scale! Still not correct mind you, but a bit better
And yes, I haven't drilled the HB-barrel. I wanted to see if it could hold up anyways. Now I know that I need to fix that...
Cheers!

Woof, now that's a Russ!
Beefy tracks, beefy turret, beefy everything!
Maybe consider adding some black diesel fumes belching out the tailpipes and some mud on the tracks, but other than that, I can't think of any way to improve it!

That's a great piece of work - the perspective on that first pic, especially, shows it off really, really well. All the stuff you've shown off so far is great, by the way!

Boom! Leman Russ Commander

Amazing how the wider tracks alone make it look that more intimidating. Not to say the rest isn't awesome as well but seeing that I now know should I build another Russ he definitly gets wider tracks. Which parts have you used for them? They remins me a little of a 1/35 scale Jagdtiger I put together ages ago (but didn't own anymore)

Oh boy! I'm loving both of your guard vehicles <3
Love the "running chicken" feel of that Sentinel. And that Leman Russ, magnificent! Looks way better than the GW original. Don't share the how-to on that model unless you want me to rip you off for my upcoming DKoK Army
Overall, I like your choice of colour and your weathering technique is on point. Do you use oils or enamels?
thanks again for sharing!

I didn't even think about the smoke! Great suggestion!
And I tried some mud and didn't like it, might have to try it out again!

And they make it a real chonker, with the tracks being metal! And you're basically guessing correctly, they're metaltracks for a Tiger 1 in 1:35. Realized that it's a model I'll never finish, so the tracks got a new life!

Thanks dude, and please rip me off! For weathering I use pigments and pigment-sealer, applied with dead/cheap brushes and go with the flow and getting inspiration from vehicles I've seen IRL.
I don't use oils anymore at all, mostly because I'm heavily into pigments and acrylics, but I do use some enamels, mostly splash mud (makes great caked on mud if stippled) and engine oil from MIG!
