So it was just announced that GW is delaying their BF boxes for US customers, UNLESS you ordered before today basically. Otherwise, there will not be enough coming over to supply the US. Couple of things:
We still have yet to see the actual costs of said boxes, as they have not even appeared in the store. You can only "reserve" sets through your local. This means you are ordering blind as to actual value.
We have no reason to expect that these will actually ship anytime soon. They may be delayed until 2022.
GW is allowing us to order the High Marshall's set, which clocks in at close to 500 dollars.
GW's stock is dropping like a hot rock, but their Profit margin is up to 32% as of 2021.
Is this FOMO or fallout from Omicron/Brexit?

Where was this announced?
Literally the only specific we have had, announced as part of the pre-order article, was that the Omnissiah's Talon boxed set would be coming "early next year" for the US.

The simple and obvious answer is that they are unable to ship enough to the US in time because of global shipping issues + Brexit
Why is the High Marshall set not effected? Probably because they haven't sold many of them so they still have a limited supply of them available in the US.
There is no evil plot to miss out on holiday sales for whatever reason that can only possibly end up with them making less money then they would have made if the kits did go on sale as planned.

So for clarity, the two boxes that are getting delays are the Admech and Death Guard.
For the Admech it says:
For those in the United States and Canada, Forge World Memphis** has had its requisitions delayed by solar interference, so the Omnissiah’s Talon box won’t arrive until early next year.
And for the Death Guard:
For Death Guard adherents in the US, Canada, New Zealand, and Australia, this Battleforce is available to pre-order on Saturday. Nurgle devotees in other regions will have a short wait before marching into battle – chalk it up to rusted joints.
So that's one box being delayed in the USA and one box for everywhere but the USA/Canada/Oceania. Some people have notice of how expensive the boxes will be and it's roughly in line with previous years at the £100-£150 mark.
As for the stock stuff, let's not get into it again, please. The last thread was such a joke.

I could suggest better forums for discussing GW's stock price.
The availability of Battleforce Boxes are irrelevant to long term forecasts. The cost of shipping is the main driver of declines, the cost of raw materials is the secondary driver. These are ultimately structural issues that the company is very capable of addressing.
Strong hold.

Are you sure the availability of $300 3D printers that will spit out FW quality models doesn't have anything to do with it? They might tell the shareholders they aren't worried about 3D printing but that doesn't suddenly make that true. I would be extremely worried about that if I were GW right now.

Apparently amid exploding profit margins GW cut dividends on their stock. That is more probable.
I still think 3D printer tech is not yet advanced enough to kill GW like that. Posters are quick to educate us on how non-user friendly the tech is and issues like the smell they produce (which I can see if they print resin or even plastics). I think it’s a combination of a myriad of negative speculations from the boycott that was big enough to hit the news, brexit, shortages, the fact that GW’s growth is being constrained by the infrastructure, and other mini issues like the sewage leak. Now, if 3d printed models were widely available and easily obtainable sans a 3d printer, I would entertain the argument that they are a source of significant negative speculation. If software was invented that allowed any moron to print an existing file by opening the file and clicking print, and assuming you could just hit print and get a model in a few hours or less, then yes, I could conceivably see 3d printers doing this.

That is not how the stock market works. The market reacts to news from GW and from external forces.
The stock market is reacting to GW's statement about reduced dividend due to shipping challenges as well as what's going on in the world. The latest dividend announcement is higher than expected, but lower than pre-covid ( 100p vs 150p ).
They give zero gaks about whether or not a small handful of customers are getting a Christmas box on time or not. They have zero concern about 3D printers, because there is no quantitative data about their impact. So long as GW continues to have increasing profits then the effective impact of 3D printers is zero.

Nah. Consumer-grade tech doesn't exist to print models at scale so GW doesn't GAS.
Don't mistake examples you see on the Internet for macro-level consumer trends. That's not how it works.
You may personally have an Artec and a Photon III and be able to print out 5,000 points of Guard in 24 hours. 99.999% of the rest of the world doesn't know what a Photon is, how to scan in 3D, where to get the models, nor are they going to invest the time to learn Blender / Maya / AutoCAD / whatever to print something they actually desire.
Scaling the consumer production model up to the point where it could take away 0.01% of GW's sales would require significant engineering around physical medium, software, printer accuracy / reliability, olfactory sensitivity and more. They would have to reach iPhone levels of ease of use before they got to a first adopter market, and that's a really hard target to reach for any product.

It's not just a smell issue, resin in its liquid form gives off bad organic vapours and is not good to touch with bare skin either. Mostly all current resins (from what I gather) have a cumulative effect, so you can sink your hand into the vat once and get anything from no reaction through to chemical burns. However even if you got no reaction, the next time you have an increased chance of one. Which is why some get poor handling practice and then suddenly find themselves getting rashes and much more serious allergic reactions to it.
That's a massive barrier to entry. Sure with a mask, eye protection and nitrile gloves you're pretty much safe. It's a controllable risk, but you have to be aware of it and manage it sensibly and that really puts it into a more dangerous category than most model hobby stuff. Indeed it puts it beyond the reach of many kids if they are to hobby unsupervised. So that's a huge target market for firms like GW.
Now if someone can come up with a resin that works and is safe that would be one of the big game changers for bringing 3D printing much more forward into the consumer market.

Yeah, really not sure what this is about other than FUD/fearmongering/paranoid ranting. I've preordered 20 battleforces (2 of each one) through a couple different stores, $210 a pop, all of them have their allocation numbers in and squared away, etc.
