Hi guys,
Currently reading Horus Heresy book 3: extermination and the battle of paramar in particular.
Firstly, I have to say the battle would gain to have one or two more pages of fluff, the ending is very abruptly brought, it is a bit a surprise and a disappointment as the two previous books explained everything in great lengths and details.
But let's focus on the legio fighting at Paramar:
The legio Fureans and the legio Gryphonicus. The former is said to have committed 8-10 maniples, so between 40 to 50 god-engines if I googled correctly, but the legio Gryphonicus deployed a "demi legio", which I believe doesn't mean a detailed number (seeing as the Legio had about 180 machines, and they still lost, it's definitely not really half of the legio).
Do you have any information about a demi legio ? I must say I haven't read / played titanicus.

IIRC 'demi' is not literally 'half' seeing titan legions fluff mentions multiple operational at the same time. It's just unit of organization one step below full legio, a detachment with however many maniples are deemed suitable for operation at hand, or available at the moment, nothing more.

Also, as a side note, maniple is technically supposed to have ~5 machines but it can be as little as 2-3 if a legion was worn down by attrition or is one of the smaller ones, so the full number only applies to big legios and these that are freshly supplied or haven't fought for a while.

Yeah exactly, as it is the beginning of the Horus Heresy, I believe both legio are at full strength more or less and they are both very numerous legio
But I'm bit sad we don't have definite numbers but just fluff approximations

Tbh my.head Canon has also been that a manitpul is just a binary tree.
Warlord x1, reaver X2, warhound x4

That seemed like a really solid starting ground just because you have the warehounds to flush enemies out, reavers to flank and deliver machine kills, and the warlord to draw fire and be the power house.

To many unpainted models to count.
