Fluttering Firewyrm of Tzeentch




Hi all, new to 1k sons. I've built a list to aim toward and would appreciate your feedback. Psychic powers for each unit underlined (Time Flux and Smite taken as given).

Cult of Time, 2x Additional Relics

Daemon Prince (185) Wings, Sword. Warlord (Undying Form), Hourglass of Manat. Temporal Manipulation, Twist of Fate
Exalted Sorcerer (160) Disc of Tzeentch, High Acolytes (Immaterial Echoes), Athenaean Scrolls, Dilettante (Helm of the Daemon's Eye). Tzeentch's Firestorm, Doombolt
Infernal Master (90) Umbralefic Crystal, Fires of the Abyss, Malefic Maelstrom. Empyric Guidance
Terminator Sorcerer (125) Force Axe, Inferno combi-melta, Loyal Thrall. Glamour of Tzeentch, Weaver of Fates

10 Rubrics (279) 9x Warpflamers, Warpflame pistol, Icon of Flame. Pyric Flame
10 Rubrics (230) 1x Soulreaper Cannon, Icon of Flame. Temporal Surge
10 Rubrics (230) 1x Soulreaper Cannon, Icon of Flame. Desecration of Worlds

1,999pts, 9CP remaining, 17 Cabal Points


Rough idea of what does what is this:

- Daemon Prince is a bit of a roving beatstick, healing itself and turning off Invuls
- Exalted Sorcerer helps increase CP and acts as a MW gun (Scrolls on Firestorm, followed by undeniable Doombolt boosted by Ritual, followed by Smite)
- Infernal Master babysits third squad of Rubrics on backfield, boosting range and strength of their weapons
- Terminator Sorc babysits Scarabs, maybe deepstriking, putting -1 to hit and 4++ on them

- Flamer Rubrics are a bit of a kamikaze via Umbralefic Crystal, using Pyric Flame and +1 to wound strat, can also take Maelific Malestrom first if opponents are T5
- 2nd Rubrics advance forward and can sling the Spawn ahead with Temporal Surge for a surprise charge
- 3rd Rubrics hold backfield
- Tzaangors tie up/screen as needed
- Spawn can either take Terminator Sorc buffs (if not deepstriking) to become v tough and early charge, or otherwise plug gaps
- Terminators either deepstrike or don't but head for the centre regardless

Seems like a good place to start for sure, id personally drop tzangors and put more rubrics in, but if youve got a plan for each unit then its what works best for you i guess. Id maybe try get some transport in like a rhino to protect a unit getting to that midfield. I never leave home without 2 rhinos with 5 rubrics in each to hold that mid board early game. Id split the termies into 2 units of 5 if deep striking aswell for that board control if not probably keep them in the unit of 10 for buffs and time flux. Hope any of that helps.

Ok I'll definitely look into Rhinos. And yeah could drop the Tzaangors tbh they were just filler. Five-man Rubrics are probably better objective-holders than Tzaangors anyway?

Probably keep the Termies as 10 though like you say for the buffs.

Yeah sounds good. Also id say ahriman is a solid choice, rerolling them powers really comes in clutch in alot of games.
