Just finished and based these, im thinking about going back to do more with the base. These were models already assembled and primed so, i had to paint over a lot of them and did the best i could. Still experimenting with candy apple to find the right way of doing it that i like, this was an experiment with silver over gold, and it came out to maroon in a lot of places but oh well, part of the lesson, and its really hard to see the blue in the white shoulder pad.

Also trying to get decent at taking pictures, they still need decals but FW ships via pony express so.

Either way, comments, critiques, and criticism welcome.

To many unpainted models to count.

Anyone would be happy to see these on the table.

The candy apple is quite impressive.

I think the bases are fine as they are - the surface texture clearly gives an impression of sand softly sculpted by wind, the feet of the cult are realistically sinking into it, and the simplicity of it is a proper counter to the extravagance of the color of the armor.

The only criticism I can think to mention is to hide the black of the top of the bases (at least one: from our view just to the right of the front-and-center mini in the top photo) by painting it the color of the sand.

Nice work. And I rather like the sandy bases as well.
