A Protoss colony world

Title says it all. I recently got a set of the Orlock Outrider Quads, and I've assembled one of them, but I didn't know if it needs to go on a base or not. The kit comes with two oval bases of an appropriate size for the models, but all the pics I've seen of the vehicles do not show bases. I couldn't find any rules regarding bases unless I overlooked them somehow. Do I need to use the bases?

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/7/24, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~16000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Imperial Knights: ~2300 | Leagues of Votann: ~1300 | Tyranids: ~3400 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000 | Kruleboyz: ~3500 | Lumineth Realm-Lords: ~700

The Grotsnik Corp Bump Feelerer 9,000. It only looks like several bricks crudely gaffer taped to a cricket bat.

The rules don't go into this level of detail. Default is to use bases that the minis came with.
Arguably there would be benefits or drawbacks related to bases. But the game got bigger problems.

Do what you prefer, game will run fine either way.

I like bases because you can handle the model without putting your grubby fingers all over it. The varnish holds up much better when you just handle minis by the base. I actually wish more things had bases like attack bikes in 40k
