Hi all.
AK interactive made a Streak and Grime mix for Yellow vehicles. They no longer do. As a result my minis look different now that I am using their regular blend streak and grime. The old solution that I am trying to simulate is on the right. The model on the left is painted using the current formula which is still available.

Any idea how I could simulate this or work up to it without a bunch of steps.

I was thinking about mixing pigments into oil paints to try and get the same feel. Secret weapon makes colored pigments. I was thinking about a Ig hot burnt sienna oil wash with pigment mixed in. Then use reductive highlighting to remove some for the final product.

I can't fault that plan really. Never thought of adding powders to my oils before.

So… neither had I. Though I have seen it suggested. I won’t swear by the result since it’s not dry yet but, I tried it. I think I need more oil paint in my wash next time. I used Abteilung Engine grease paint and mixed in green earth pigment from secret weapon.

I like the pigment deposition for generalized grime. I’m planning on doing a bunch of washes over this with regular Army painter washes, sponge weathering etc but it looks Ok. Just ok. I wanted way deeper color so I could use reductive shading. It’s an experiment.
