Some time ago I was searching for a Ridgehauler alternative, and I found this: https://spikeybits.com/2022/07/1-2-price-alternative-necromunda-cargo-8-ridge-hauler.html . It is a truck from the movie "Wandering Earth", and is roughly the size of Ridgehauler. The model was suprisingly well made, only applying the decals was a little difficult, but the reason was the complicated shape of the model, not the quality of the decals. The model was made from different colours of plastic and did not require painting, but I decided to paint it to add shading.

I also bought the original Ridgehauler. The model is in my opinion great, the only thing I don't like are the hatches on container. The hatch is wery shallow, and it can be clearly seen that the gunner doesn't have legs. It should be smaller, like in the Rhino model. This is how the model looks like:

And both models together. I think the CN373 is not a very good alternative for Ridgehauler because of the scale. It is supposed to be in 1/100, so it would be much larger in real life. For example if we put a Necromunda - scaled miniature next to it, the wheels would be very small, the same with the cab or cargo space.

Because I don't have any Necromunda miniatures (my Ridgehauler will be terrain for 40K, even the crew is on magnets ), here is the comparison with the gunner from Ridgehauler.

Even though the scale is not perfect it looks really nice. You did good on the paint jobs

I like the 70s style stripes on the Wandering Earth model.

Thanks for sharing this!. I had seen that model a while back and assumed it was too small, but it looks fantastic. Better IMHO, than the Cargo 8 and I can think of several games this would fit great in, including my 28mm Mech Attack convention events.

Found a slow-boat offer on Ebay for less than 30 bucks just now and picked it up.

One additional question, How hard would it be to make the bucket removeable, possibly magnetically? I see that flatbed as being a prime area for swapable cargo and such.

Thanks The whole model can be build without glue, so the bucket is easily removable without any changes in the model.

That is great! For a model that is supposedly 1/200, it does seem to have three very-28mm-appropriate access hatches. I also like that it is entirely enclosed. I'm not sure why necromunda drivers are apparently venturing into the very-very-toxic ash wastes in open topped transport vehicles?

There's a lot that doesn't make sense in the ash wastes, like midriff baring tops and dudes in muscle shirts.
