Is 'Eavy Metal Calling?

UK

Time to pick November's theme. This month, the options are pulled from previous popular but ultimately unsuccessful options getting another go round.

'Snazzy': much-requested in this month's thread, this theme would call for your fanciest minis, decked out in finery and frippery and all manner of shiny things. From a well-clothed noble to an Ork with gold teef, the more ostentatious, gaudy and grandiose the better!

In It For The Money: mercenaries, pirates, plunderers and hired killers, some fight for no cause but the lining of their own pockets. Your emtry should feature such greedy and selfish warriors.

Lead From The Front: This theme is for those who pair tactical acumen with martial skill, leading their troops into battle as both commander and warrior. Your entry should feature models that possess the skills to both fight the foe head-on, and to lead their larger forces to victory.

Playing Tricks: From trickster gods to decieving dregs, through illusion magic and advanced camo-tech, a little sleight of hand goes a long way wherever you find yourself. Your entry should feature minis known for their deceptive or tricksy nature or skillset.

The only one that would be an issue would be “In it for the Money” which would require me to do a deep dive into the old metal stocks.

Voted for Snazzy. I have a captain and maybe some BGVs to back him up I’ve been wanting to paint. Although they could also probably fit into leading from the front.

Tricks would see some Eldar move across the bench. Or a Lictor. Or some eliminators. Plenty of options.

Mostly, on my phone.

Whilst I was a firm advocate of Snazzy, that ship has sailed (well, bifrosted away). Voted for Lead from the front as I've got a lot SHIELD and Hydra on my table this month, but with Core Space Bounty hunters and a new crew I could totally be In It for the Money. Might have to break out the Raven Guard if we're sneaking about, though.

C'mon Snazzy! I've been holding off painting my RT Inquisitor for this...

I could go for three of these. Who needs my vote?

I'm in for Snazzy. Hideyoshi and his retainers have been waiting for years to get some attention...

Now showing a Harlequin Dreadnought!

Painting total as of 4/25/2024: 33 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain

Painting total for 2023: 79 plus 28 Battlemechs and a Dragon-Balrog

Snazzy! I've got precisely one idea and no backup, I can't paint her until Snazzy wins.

I think I can make all of these work, might have to get a little creative with Snazzy though.
Voted for Playing Tricks, since that would allow me to go for something different than usual.

I voted Snazzy. And when I say I voted I mean I rolled a D4.

The die may not have been impartial, though, being quite snazzy itself.

Nehekhara lives! Sort of!

I voted “In it for the money” hoping for a chance to do my Ninja Weasel as she’s a mercenary type. But it’s not to be.

I’ll maybe just go ahead and paint her up anyway. But of course if I do that the very next month will be “Strike from the Shadows” month dedicated to all things stealth-assassin. Unless is it open -no theme- in December?

I can roll with Snazzy for now.

December is classically the open round, so if you can hold off a month on a project, anything goes.

I could start lobbying for Snazzy if you like. That's sure to sink that option and give the others a chance.

I suppose I could do snazzy. Sigh.

I think a floating Chaos Knight Psyker / Abominant scratch/conversion build is 'snazzy', right?

That would be very Snazzy, KhorneGirl.

Voted for 'In it for the money', but it's pretty clear 'Snazzy' will win, I reckon.

I don't have anything at all that suits Snazzy, so I'll drop out at this point I think. Looking forward to seeing what you all come up with though!

Lovejoy, you don't have any more snazzy Cursed City models? Those heroes are hella-snazzy!

Nope, the ones I did this month are the only minis I have from that set... I didn't like any of the others. Basically, because they were snazzy looking!

Nooooo Lovejoy I've really been enjoying your entries the last few months, I hope you can find something even if its just a tenuous link to the theme.
