It looks basically like Star Wars Kill Team. Star Wars needs a skirmish game. It'll be interesting to see if this competes with Shatterpoint. I know I'm a lot more likely to play this than buy into a new game.

Interesting move to put this out now when they've just opened the shatterpoint preorders. Looks pretty good to me, I hope they expand it with hero characters though, be a shame not to be able to recreate the final scenes of Rogue One with Vader going ham on terrified fleet troopers

It very much takes some design cues from Kill Team (which I'm not going to complain about).

The timing is definitely interesting with Shatterpoint going up for pre-order in the same week. For me, they do occupy a different space so shouldn't be too much of an issue of them treading on each other. This ruleset is your small squad infiltration teams or very small skirmishes between 'regular' forces. Shatterpoint is all about mashing it up with the big-named heroes and villains plus a couple of henchmen.

Sounds like a good addition to the game. I'm going to have to download the beta rules and have a read, but a small scale game mode of throwing troopers at each other is inherently of interest to me.

This certainly interests me more than Shatterpoint at this point, if only because I don't need to buy more stuff to play it.

I'm personally less interested, only because my biggest disappointment with Legion is just that it doesn't incorporate hero characters very well, but I certainly get why this would be preferable for a lot of people.

Is this the one with the larger figures? There's a new "Crisis Protocol" based on Star Wars, but they're completely redoing the minis line, with large enough figures that they'll look odd alongside my Legion collection... So that's a non starter for me.

No, this is like a "Kill Team" using Legion figures. Shatterpoint is the new game at Primaris scale.
