Haven't been here in forever and I'm slowly creeping back into the hobby. Since the IVth Legion is my personal favourite, figured I would brainstorm some ideas if they ever got a supplement to themselves
Let them take Havocs as troops. They made Havocs a thing, so I feel they should take them as troops and free up the Heavy Support choices.
ARTILIJERIA! Memes aside, artillery is their bread & butter. I would like it if they were able to take Basilisks (got into the game during 5E, so I have no nostalgia of their supposed cheese back in 3E). Maybe Manticores, but I don't want to swipe too much from the Guard.
Obliterators. I love them. You love them. Everyone loves them. This point is to question whether they would be best if left in the Heavy Support or move them into the Elites slot?
Castellan Rhinos. Reading up on them, they sound cool. Let them have an extra point to toughness compared to a normal Rhino. With their unique ability of being able to link together, I feel there could be a way to work a specialty disembarking. Like you can disembark from the Rhino you are in, but also the Rhino connected directly to the one you are in. If there is another Rhino connected to that one, you cannot disembark from that Rhino that turn, but you can transfer your troops into it. Of course, let the Castellan be more expensive than the usual Rhino as to not make them obsolete; I'm thinking 5-10 points more expensive.
Tyrant Siege Terminators, because who doesn't want tough as hell mobile missile platforms?
Breacher Siege Squad, for all your shielded sieging needs. Put them in the Elites slot.
Now, for HQs
Perturabo. Obvious choice is obvious. No idea how to build him (is he a Daemon Prince or a jacked-up Obliterator?), so he's just getting a name drop from me.
Barban Falk. Need to re-read Storm of Iron to get an idea on how to build him.
Honsou. The Daemonculaba Daddy himself. Want to have his necrodermis arm play into his gameplay in some way. Whether it hits like a truck in melee or let him regain a wound a turn (NOT SO MUCH FUN NOW, IS IT NECRONS?!). Also, maybe let that Bitter Enmity stratagem also work on Ultramarines if used on him. Again, I seriously need to re-read Storm of Iron or the other Iron Warriors books.
Warsmiths. Reword the Chaos Lord and give them access to the hydraulic arm on their old model as a weapon akin to the Warpsmith's mechatendrils, trading in the tendrils bonus attacks with a higher strength attack (give them the clamps!)
Would love to hear peoples thoughts and inputs on this one.
