Subject: Hametsu -- Solo/Co-op Monster Hunting game in Feudal Japan
Black Site Studio is doing a pre-release not-kickstarter campaign on their site for Hametsu which is a solo/co-op monster hunting game that's mini's agnostic -- though they do have some of their own. There's some stretch goals including free models/STLs (depending on what you back) and additional rules.
That might be because the Patreon market drove the value of the STL down in an insane race to the bottom. So when you see firms that work in physical models breaking into the STL market in a short term venture their prices are higher because they aren't building themsleves into a firm that's going to deliver you 10-20-30-40 models a month but rather one block of models in one go and might not release anything again until they do an expansion for the game in physical.
Or maybe because at the moment there's no way of buying just the ones you might actually want separately, or the rules in pdf separately.
I might want two or three of the minis renderd above (the komusÅ monk and the dancer, and maybe the one with the kasa hat) or just the rules. $95 is entirely too much to ask for that, with no other way of checking it out.
The presupported mini also looks... Ok, maybe, for a presupported, but it also looks like it has no actual anchors, so who the hell knows, really.
The lack of closeup renders of everything you're supposed to be getting isn't very endearing either.

There is a retailer bundle of just book so maybe those will make their way there. But at the same time they've had posts quite a while ago on FB about having to focus less on supporting games in distribution as it was taking a lot of time for not much sales, and at a discount vs direct.

There's a decent amount of stretch goals added to the digital pledge right now but you should be able to buy everything separately once the campaign delivers the digital products. For stuff that was stretch goals I've noticed it can take them quite a while to get that up on the store in both digital and physical, like 6+ months. As there have been times, like you, that I've just wanted one or two things so I've paid more attention to their releases.
