At 20 points each i am leaning towards just using Power Weapons instead. (and a Frost Weapon on the Huscarl)
Is it a bad idea to not take any Power Fists? Will it affect them significantly in melee?

I’m not up on the rules, but if they remain “invisible” squad rather than champion Power Fists are quite appealing, as they remain dangerous much longer, can’t be picked or challenged out.

At 20 points though, and no extra attack for pistol, I don’t think I’d take many per squad.

Couldn't they still be killed with Precision Shots? from Snipers etc

They can, but snipers are fairly rare and not great at clearing multiple targets. For example, a 5 man squad of Seekers with nemesis bolt rifles reliably puts out *one* precision rending wound per shooting phase. All at the low cost of 155 points. For 105 points a basic Seeker squad can put out (roughly) 2 precision breaching wounds with their kraken bolters, but only with a range of 24 inches.

While there are various sniper units (such as the above seekers) they're pointed to only be efficient when gunning down force multipliers. If they're taking pot shots at your squads to take out general mooks (even power fist wielding mooks), you're the one coming out on top in that scenario.

Could be worth noting there is a psychic power to pass out precision shot 5+

Throw in the rules for sponsons and defensive weapons could let you fish to kill important models on maybe 3 separate units at once.

I've had a bit of success with the tactic. Specifically a trio of voltkite loaded predators.

? Nemisis bolters are very much quite liked for recon marines which are common enough where i am and scouts (in my case).

But yes 20 pts for a powerfist is a bit steep.

GW:"Space marines got too many options to balance, therefore we decided to legends HH units."
Players: "why?!? Now we finally got decent plastic kits and you cut them?"
Chaos marines players: "Since when are Daemonengines 30k models and why do i have NO droppods now?"
GW" MONEY.... erm i meant TOO MANY OPTIONS (to resell your army to you again by disalowing former units)! Do you want specific tyranid fighiting Primaris? Even a new sabotage lieutnant!"
Chaos players: Guess i stop playing or go to HH.

I think it's important to remember that grey slayers are very cheap for their base statline, wargear and a rules, so although they're paying a "higher" price for their powerfists than say, reavers, it overall balances out to be a worthwhile choice sprinkled in
