It turns out I like 'jerk' space marine chapters like the Minotaurs.

I'm tempted to do a new project with a new jerk chapter but to.do it with a twist.
I only really play kill team when it comes to 40k so phobos and intercessor kill teams would be the extent of the buy in.

The jerks in question are the Flesh Tearers.

And the twist is 'damned' Flesh Tearers - like the Knights of Blood they are on their way to damnation and know it. At this point they're looking for a good death and salvage something of their 'honour'.

And what I'd like to do is mix the chaos and sm sprues together to represent their 'fall'. Obviously stay away from obviously chaotic heraldry (8 pointed stars etc) but I quite like the idea of using chaos marine sprues to make Flesh tearers, if it us possible.

So, Haa anyone kitbashes chaos and loyalist sprues together effectively? Looking for inspiration.

It kind of depends on what kits you're planning on using.

If you're talking old school style marines and chaos, GW used this method for the 13th Company army back in 3rd edition in the Eye of Terror codex. It's a great look, as the two kits were designed to be interchangeable.

Newer chaos kits should still work with the old school marines, but it will take a little more hacking to get them to work. If you're wanting to avoid overtly chaotic symbols, you'd be better off using the old style chaos marines anyway (and they're probably cheaper).

It's a great effect, and I whole-heartedly encourage your project!
