This is pretty simple, I just want to give props to the mod team for how they handled a pseudo-political situation without straight up locking or nuking the thread. I've been on Dakka for a long time and this instance really stands out as probably the best handling of a questionable OT topic that I've seen.

I would have to say that thanks are due in large part to most of the posters in that thread, mostly it has been very well handled and the topic has been treated with respect and thoughtfulness. So thanks to the posters who have been awesome, long may it last.

I had to double take when I clicked into this thinking everything was removed heh... kudos to the posters! and the subject bringer!

I don't promise agreement on anything, but try to follow the golden rule as a general rule of thumb! Though disagreement in and of itself these days is getting flagged more and more and I think that's where the fears lay so it's always refreshing when that doesn't kill the conversation.

I should clarify that I was speaking generally about social media as a whole, not that more and more things on dakka were getting flagged.

Thank you mods!!! I started that post knowing that it would be a risk, but im very happy with how polite everyone has been on this incredibly crucial issue.
