Lustful Cultist of Slaanesh

If you're curious about the WIP thread, you can find it here in the P&M Blogs.

This project is a kitbash and conversion army based on the idea of a corrupted Sisters of Battle convent tied into a Slaanesh dedicated Word Bearers warband. The army is painted entirely with variations on basecoat / drybrushing / washes unless otherwise noted. The old hands aren't steady enough these days for things like traditional layering or blending but I think I can still get some decent results and certainly good enough for the table top.

Having finally found where my decent camera was hidden, dug up a tripod, and ordered a new little lightbox, I figured I could get this thread kicked off with a bit of catching up on the finished models so far.

I started this project working on a squad of Legionaries combining parts from a Sisters Squad, Daemonettes, and the Legionary Kill Team. Granted, most of the kill team bits are actually press-mold greenstuff copies to make the shoulderpad supply last long enough, but the reaper chaingun is still plastic

Digging into the Pile of Shame with some old Reaper metal minis I tweaked a few bits to make this Dark Apostle with a pair of Acolytes.

For a squad of daemonettes, I used some Mantis Warriors from the Raging Heroes line of Lust Elves. Unsurprisingly, these are a little NSFW.
Spoiler:

For the herald, an Infernal Rapturess, I dug into the old Reaper minis again to build her harp and then used Lady Shaah, also from the Lust Elf line of minis for the herald herself. Again, NSFW.
Spoiler:

Last but not least is the 25th model out of 50 for the initial project roster. A Daemon Prince converted from bits of the GW kit, really old GW dragon wings, a few other bits, and another old Reaper mini: Urban Legends Sophie. Her final dimensions actually match the standard Daemon Prince rather close, at about 120mm tall and spreading out with the wings. If you've heard of this Sophie before, the NSFW tag should not be a surprise
Spoiler:

Figuring out how to get the skin to look decent with just basecoat and drybrushing took a little trial and error, but I think she turned out well.

Heh, well you're not wrong... but they only account for the daemon portion of the army plus 1 prince, so 13 out of the 50 models currently planned. They just mostly got painted first because I got them all in a bulk order from the overseas manufacturer while the other kits have been trickling in from sales or ebay or the like. I've been working my way up on the sizes of the minis because painting the 200mm tall Avatar of Shaah was a little daunting before I tackled the Sophie and kind of figured some tricks out to make the skin look decent on bigger models. Now I'm just saving her for last as the big centerpiece paintjob for the army.
