We've3 seen images of NY and the effects of the fires that are happening but even way out in Indiana we are seeing it as well. Today there was even a notification because of the smog covered landscape. Not bad enough to need a mask (for most those with with sensitive/compromised respiratory probably do) but enough to be extremely noticeable. One neat thing is that is making the sun just a round red orb since the rays are obscured by the smoke. Hopefully there are no undead pirates mulling about in there.
Anyone seeing the effects in their area?

Amidst the mists and coldest frosts he thrusts his fists against the posts and still insists he sees the ghosts.

Air quality here in the GTA of Ontario has been pretty bad as of late. The recent rain helped clear out a bit but it's come back as of this morning. I heard it's been even worse in Ottawa lately as well.

We had some thunderstorms roll through on Sunday, bringing badly needed rain to lower Michigan. Lingering overcast into Monday with additional showers was great.
And then yesterday there was still some mist and drizzle, but as the day wore on the haze went from a fresh, rain-smelling one to a dry, smoky one, and that's what we have today.

It's been noticealble as white fog over here in the heartland, and very noticeable this morning. Thankfully it's been windy.

Not unusual for us to get wild fire smoke in spring and fall. However, I think the smoke has triggered a lot of rain for us this year, which has also kept our air fairly clean.

Yes, its reaching down into the mid-Atlantic states as well. Second time around for this- I'd hope they had managed to get things under control, but apparently not.
I dealt with smoke from fires in Arizona when I was in New Mexico, but this is significantly worse, and a much wider reach.

Southeastern PA here. It's not as bad this time, but it's noticeably sucky outside. Air quality is around 180 today, it was over 300 with the last wave.

I could taste it the other day, but it was nothing compared to what I experienced on a normal day in LA 20 odd years ago.

As a mailman who works in Toronto, I gotta say yeah it's been pretty bad. I've lived in this city my whole life and I've never seen anything like this before. The moment you step outside all you can smell is campfire. I thankfully have no respiratory ailments but I do feel for those who are affected by what's happening.

Here its much worse than my time in LA.
We've had foggy mornings with better visibility than the smoke cloud this afternoon.

I'm in St. Louis at the moment. Today was much better, but yesterday? It was very hazy, and not the normal 'high humidity' hazy either.
It was a bit unsettling, to be honest. We're over 1000 miles from Canada... and still getting smoked? That must be one HECK of a fire...
