Perfect Shot Black Templar Predator Pilot

The Dark Imperium

I've often found myself sowing my favorite post-apocalyptic/futuristic/sci-fi franchises up in a Frankenstein sort of way for the kicks. I never really flesh these out very far because it's a lot of work, and who would approve? The IP owners probably won't.

I also find that the fans of various IPs aren't necessarily interested in mixing their favorites with mine. Still I always find myself returning to certain ideas.

As of late I've returned to an older idea of interconnecting 40k (this time with real history, i.e. The Knights Templar), and while my IP classics are still on the table to be drawn in, I'm thinking seriously of laying a historical foundation for what might come later, and perhaps gain a little insight or inspiration from some of you.

Do any of you on dakka have a habit of doing any of this? or maybe you have in fact created a mash-up of something from some of your interests?

So if you could create a game that wasn't simply inspired by your favorite Intellectual Properties, but instead were an actual combination those IPs what would you pick to intersect, and spawn a story, characters, campaign, or world with?

What platform would you use?

This could be anything from a simply writting a short story, making game mod or module, campaign, or total conversion.

You may use any source, books, movies, anime, cartoons, games, etc. no restrictions, no limits, entirely your choice.

We know 40k pulls inspiration from pretty much everything, but let's just make ours completely blatant and obivious!

Think of it as kitbashing worlds.
