I've never had a good WW II Eastern Front wargame. I inherited a vintage copy of Avalon Hill's "Stalingrad" and it was...unsatisfying.

Years later I bought "Great Patriotic War" and didn't much care for it. I've since sold it.

So now I'm thinking about the updated, modified "The Russian Front." Is it all that? I'm mostly looking at solitaire play.

Want a better way to do fantasy/historical miniatures battles?  Try Conqueror: Fields of Victory.

Do you like Star Wars but find the prequels and sequels disappointing?  Man of Destiny is the book series for you.

Recently the "legacy" title in the Undaunted series is getting a lot of praise: " Undaunted: Stalingrad". But this is explicitely for two players.

For solo play the weirdly titled Conflict of Heroes (what heroes? nazis or commies?): Awakening of the bear with the solitaire expansion or Absolute War! The Russian Front 1941-45 .
