I've been following Bestiarum miniatures for a long while and love some of their designs but I'm unfamiliar with the inspiration. I want to say that it reminds me of fleeting glimpses in various videos and references in posts that I've seen from the Bloodborne/Dark Souls/Elden Ring games but I've never actually played any of them as I've been out of the modern gaming loop for one and a half console generations at this point and even longer on PC. Is this style inspired by those games? I've included a couple of sample images in the spoiler below.

I wrote up a whole thing about it, but deleted it because it read like a FromSoft fanboy saying "well ACTUALLY". XD

Short answer is that it is fair to say that FromSoft is likely a major influence on the Bestiarium sculptors[1], along with other franchises like Berserk, Diablo, etc.

That's not to say it's aping From's (or any one else's) style, and I do think the Bestiarium guys have their own artistic vision that carries through all their releases. Whether you like that style or not is of course a matter of personal taste.

[1]: Influence may be putting it mildly in some cases. =) e.g. https://www.myminifactory.com/object/3d-print-purifying-machine-266785 and https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Flame+Chariot

Thanks and no harm in letting your fanboy flag fly once in a while.

I appreciate the response as I haven't played any of the games but the general asthetic of their 3d model releases reminded me of the games specifically. I fully agree that they put their own spin on it and I'm sure have other influences as well. I love some of their designs (like their dark elf pack), some of the biomechanical elements (like their floating shiva portal cyborg guy specifically!), and their recent pygmies.
