Wow, I am shocked at the direction AC Mirage is taking. There’s new game footage & some blogs of those who got hands on for 3+ hours of play. Here’s a summary-

Just 20-25 hours of game play to beat game (25-30 for completionists)
Linear & closed world
Back to the roots of parkour & stealth & & assassinations
1/5th the size of Valhalla
Nothing at all like Odessy or Valhalla (not open world, nor rpg, nor fighting in battle)
They straddle the game play at start & as you progress so do the controls
Lots of cutscenes & narratives

For me it’s a pass & thank god I could cxl my preorder

Thoughts?

That sounds great honesty, and I will give it a good look as a possible pick up after skipping the last few.

IMHO for $60 (basic game) to $150 (collectors), I just expected more from a AAA game franchise. At least 40+ hours…

One of the game bloggers was able to speed run the game in under 14 hours. Another claimed 8. 🤔

But to each their own.

yeah I was baffled by the complaints oddessy and valhalla where too long, I mean what people wanted a 5 hour game? Given how much AAA games are asking for these days I better get a good deal of play time for my money

Opinions are not facts please don't confuse the two

I loved Odessey - This sounds much less interesting

I’ve played 300+ hours with Odessey & 867 hours with Valhalla.

Odyssey was pretty empty and repetitive. No one was calling for a 'five hour game,' just if its going to be big, it needs better enemy variety and a lot more depth.
Big and empty isn't a selling point for games.

Efficiency is the highest virtue.

We all know the series' shift, which started in Origins, towards prioritizing role-playing mechanics over stealth in several games has been polarizing.

I, for example, like the more rpg aspect. Others like the original formula. We all have valid points & individual tastes.

Let’s see how mirage unfolds…

maybe I'm just not likely to buy it, it doesn't help that I found Bassim to be completely unintreasting in valhalla

I felt like the series got too bloated with the Brotherhood, so dialing back is probably the most interesting suggestion to me.
