Captain Aurel of the Blood Angels swept everything off of his human-sized desk. “This is absurd!” he raged, kicking the desk completely over.

Lieutenant Petasos of the Planetary Defense Forces instinctively covered his face against the flying papers. “Sire, we can get you a bigger desk if you need one!”

“It’s not the desk!” Aurel shouted, kicking the wastebasket completely across the room. “It’s those bleeding-hearted Salamanders! They’re treating those cultists like they’re helpless civilians in need of rescue, instead of exterminating them like the filthy xenos-loving mutants that they are!”

A Blood Angel space marine cautiously knocked on the doorframe of the office.

“What!?” snarled Aurel.

The space marine saluted. “I have some good news and bad news for you, my Captain.”

“Well,” fumed Aurel. “I could use some good news. Have the Salamanders all come to their senses and left this planet?”

“Sorry, my captain, they have not,” answered the space marine. “However, the Storm Speeder Hammerstrike has been brought down from orbit and is ready to be deployed.”

“Excellent!” smiled Aurel. “Let’s see how our green-armored cousins like being on the receiving end of a melta-blast for a change. And the bad news?”

The space marine bowed slightly. “My Captain, the Salamanders have begun landing shuttles. It looks like they mean to start evacuating the cultists.”

Captain Aurel roared in fury and looked around for more furniture to smash. Seeing nothing else, he grabbed a coat rack and snapped it like a twig. “This is sheer madness on their part! Who knows how many worlds they could contaminate? Deploy the reserves to the landing sites! Stop the Salamanders at any cost!”

“Thank you kindly, young man, for agreeing to take us onto your ship,” said the older woman from behind her oversized hat and sunglasses.

“Of course, ma’am,” smiled the green-armored space marine. “Nothing could be more important than saving Imperial citizens from those bloodthirsty maniacs.”

The older woman grinned, revealing sharp, jagged teeth and patted the space marine’s armor with one clawed hand. “I just wish there were more people like you in the universe.”

“Contact, center, Blood Angels,” reported the Salamander infiltrators over the vox.
The Salamander’s huge invictor war-suit rose to its feet with a hiss of pistons. “No problems,” said the pilot. He guided the heavy war-suit towards the Blood Angels, the machine’s stomping feet raising clouds of dust as he moved.

One second later, a brilliantly bright heavy melta-blast cored the vehicle, sending it slumping to the ground.

“Huzzah!” shouted Captain Aurel as he watched the storm speeder finish the invictor in a single shot.

“Argh!” shouted Captain Aurel as, a moment later, the Salamander’s leviathan dreadnought came around the corner of a ruined building and blew the storm speeder out of the sky.

“Blood Angels, attack!”

The Blood Angels intercessors stormed forward, laying down a heavy volume of bolter fire in the direction of the Salamanders. Their impulsor shot forward towards one of the landing sites. Infernus marines piled out of the vehicle and took position around the site, the pilot-lights of their pyroblasters burning brightly.

The Salamander’s leviathan stomped forward to guard the main landing zone. Blood Angels incursors leaned out from behind a pile of rubble and threw their haywire mine, causing severe damage to the vehicle.

Famed Salamander commander Vulkan He’stan dismounted from his own impulsor with his retinue of infernus marines. “Defend the landing zones!” he bellowed.

The Blood Angel’s lieutenant heard his voice and turned his intercessors group towards the Salamander commander. Deadly-accurate bolter shots flew through the sheltering rubble to smash into green-armored space marines.

“Charge them!” shouted the lieutenant, “For Blood!”

Meanwhile, on the other side of He’stan’s impulsor, a squad of Blood Angels terminators and their captain stepped out of the warp. They immediately charged at the Salamander’s impulsor, pounding on it with their power fists and causing heavy damage to the vehicle.

The Blood Angels intercessors hacked and slashed at the Salamander’s infernus marines with their combat knives, quickly overwhelming them. He’stan soon found himself alone, facing a squad of red-armored intercessors on one side and the terminators on the other.

The Blood Angel’s lieutenant pointed his power-sword at He’stan. “Do you yield?”

He’stan grinned behind his helmet as the leviathan stomped forward and aimed its heavy guns at the Blood Angels terminators. “Not yet!”

The leviathan opened fire with a heavy fusillade of melta blasts. Its heavy flamer washed over the terminators, and it fired missile after missile into them.

The terminator captain smirked as the invulnerable ceramite of his squad’s armor shrugged off every single attack.

He’stan sighed in disappointment. “Yes, now I yield.”

The Blood Angel’s lieutenant’s brief smile of victory collapsed as he heard the Salamander’s transports taking off from landing zones behind him.

Game ended early because of real-world issues. Salamanders victory for VPs.
