Hi all,

I was advised by somebody that by using the instore terminal at the local GW store you skip any online queue? Is this true?

Thankyou

When leviathan came out I ordered it in store. Pretty sure the only queue was the line of people waiting their turn in the store.

When my local GW opened, I talked to the guy running it about ordering in store. One perk of this is that your local gets tagged for the sale. So when HQ is looking at the numbers, it makes them look good. As someone who’s seen FLGSs come and go, and enjoys having an official GW store 20 minutes away rather then 4 hours, keeping the lights on for him is important to me. So I do at least some of my buying there.

The only benefit is that the store gets the sale, as mentioned.
Another is anniversaries and opening events. Buy any off-the-shelf items as they have in stock, order all your online orders to pay in the store, and get the total to go towards any rewards.

The downside is that any refunds have to be made at the same store you ordered from. I recently ordered 4 pre-order items from a store terminal. One has been unavailable since the initial batch went out (if it ever happened at all). When I asked online for a partial refund, of that one item, I was told I had to go to the store I placed the order.

I try to keep my local stores getting the orders I place, but if this is GW's way of runnign a company, we're better off ordering direct online.

Keeping your local shop in business is certainly part of it.

Also as a way to pick up your toys without the wife/partner/etc seeing them arrive in the mail
