Hi can any one help?
I'm confused with how adding upgrades work to core detachments.
Can you add different upgrades to the same detachment or does it have to be the same upgrade.
For example. Can I add
1 upgrade of two missile launchers and 2 plasma
Or do they have to be the same upgrade.
I want to run with 6x tactical 2x missile and 2x plasma. (4 of the tactical are from the original detachment setup)
Is this legal or do they have to be the same option.
If any one could help with this query I would be most apprentice?
There are benefits at times to running support detachments on their own instead of part of a core detachment but also benefits to be taken in a core detachment. Marines with missile launchers if taken in a core detachment can benefit from its higher CAF of 2 instead of CAF of 1 if they are taken on their own as a support detachment. Terminators can be taken in a core detachment as "babysitters" as their implacable special rule will benefit the whole detachment.
Plasma marines sadly just seem to play second fiddle to marines with missile launchers.
Also, assault stands have the "independent" rule so they can be given different orders and independent movement from the rest of the detachment (still need to stay within 6" though), useful to keep in mind when list building
Termies and Assault stands are neat additions to any Astartes infantry detachment due to the perks they bring
