I picked up a "Space Marine" board game at Target. It was less than $40 for lieutenant Titus and 20 push fit gaunts. Is that decent deal? I had never seen boxed sets like this before

I want one, however it doesn't look like it'll be on sale here. I'd be happy to get corrected.

The way GW prices things, it’s a pretty good discount.

Of course, the way GW prices things a single SM hero is like $35+ on his own.

With the way 10th does unit upgrades (aka free) 20 bare bones gaunts are not the best. However, if you also pick up a box of the full kit, you can equip the spare bodies with different weapon options. So the 20 from here (or a combat patrol/leviathan box/etc) plus the 10 from the full box will end up as 10 spinefists, 10 devourers, 10 fleshborers. And 3 from that lot can be substituted with the new fangled toys (shardlauncer, spike rifle, strangleweb)

I’m not up on what spare gaunts sell for on e-bay. But if you are just looking at GW new prices, it’s not a bad way to bulk out a swarm.

Local Target has it here. I’m waiting for it to go on discount as they typically do.

I've seen it at my local Target. I would pick it up but I don't need more basic Fleshborer Termagants. Of course maybe I could take Nevelon's suggestion and get a box of the full kit (or better yet, two boxes) so I could equip 20 each with the other weapons (plus the specials).

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000
