I have been on a hiatus since 8th edition sometime. My friends are starting to play a casual campaign and I decided to join. Its a mix of new and returning/current players. There aren't opponent pairings I believe we are just going to roll off or something for opponents day of the first game. The other armies are Necron, IG (Krieg), Sisters, Custodes and Tau. The Sisters and Tau players are new players. Custodes played a lot a long time ago. IG/Me played a lot and stopped sometime in 8th. I think the Necron player has played off and on since them IDK much about him. I have played one game in 10th -- the Tau player was new so I combo played his army with him vs the guy playing IG (he was playing orcs that time).
I am hoping to not get shot off objectives and to be able to control the board (its an older strategy but it checks out). The Hormagants are going to come from strategic reserves to clear objectives/attack anything backline/ I am probably going to modify the list so its 4 squads of 10 and use the 2 command point Adrenal Surge. The BL+ Genestealers can hopefully LOS shooting threats and counter charge anything attacking the big bugs while the big bug block sweeps objectives. I saw the power Big Guns Never Tire shooting from combat when the broadsides got Waag teleported on in the other game -- so I got the tyrannofexes both with torrent weapons. The Lictor is going to deploy last and suicide charge into the juiciest target on the enemy side and let RNG decide. Anti Vehicle plan is to facetank on the Tyranofexes and make them roll lots of dice between whatever combination of the hive fleet adaptation, the torrents, the monster legs, the genestealer claws can get applied. The Screamer Killer may just end up as a bullet soak but if he absorbs enough thats fine and if he does get into CC with something his attacks should be able to deal with anything.
Does anyone have any input on how this may work out or ideas or just hates bugs?
