I'm going to work on my Seraphon:

I'm thinking of 4 Bastiladons with solar engines on top,
1 or 2 salamanders to protect them,
several large Kroxigor to guard the flanks,
and swarms of skinks: Both on foot and flying!

Looking forward to seeing if it will work!

hmmm... or all mounted and Monsters?
Carnosaurs, Aggradons, Troglodons, Ripperdactyls...
yummy!!

I'll see what the points changes and ability changes are when 4th drops,
but looking forward to it!

Largely depends upon what happens with allies for me, got a 1400pt Lumineth Vanari army sat unpainted on my shelf I have been meaning yo get around to finishing and was planning on adding in a few allied forces before news of 4th dropped. If they stay the same and points do not change radically then that project might get bumped up the que.

sylvaneth is my biggest aos army at the moment, but i could do to expand that a bit. i'm probably gonna pick up whatever new stormcast there is to push what i have from dominion up to 2k. and then i'm probably gonna build up nurgle and skaven together (hoping they still let the two play nice with each other)

i have played games of the current edition

I have fully painted Maggotkin to jump right in with if the game is good, and then I have fully built FEC and Nighthaunt that need painting.

Because of my Stormringer subscription, I’ve got a growing collection of SCE and Kruleboyz who I both intend to play in AoS 4.

Also have Fyreslayers and Slaves to Darkness, the latter I will supplement heavily with the upcoming Darkoath.

I guess I’ll need a Death army too.

Sticking with 3rd edition for the time being, due to the changes in support for Stormcasts, but keeping an open mind incase it gets better.

I have an ever-growing collection of Nighthaunts which should be enough for an army, a fancy for Sylvaneth and the Warcry monsters used in the Slaves To Darkness range. So, who knows...

I was actually thinking of being very contrary and doing all the models needed to run the Thondia campaign.

So, that will be Bonesplitterz and Beasts of Chaos then...

Looks like a nice variety of armies!

I think for me the main issue will be the army compossition rules... I'll have to see how to re-construct my Lizzard Horde!

Lizards for AoS are on my list somewhere.
Definitely below Orcs & Goblins for TOW and Kroot &Tau for 40k.

The snippets of the new edition and global reset are a bit de-motivating, but I have some painting ideas buzzing in the back of my head.

My first plans were to sell off my Skaven at the start of the year - which I achieved. Mostly because despite buying a whole bunch (including some resin and classic metals GW wasn't selling) when GW updated them the first time for AoS; I just never actually built anything for them.

My next plan is to outright resist the temptation to do the same all over again - whilst I love the idea of skaven I just never get to actually building them as an army.

After that I've got Daughters of Khaine; Slaanesh; Ossiarchs and a few bits of Slaves ot Darkness. So I'm in a holding pattern to see how those armies evolve for this release.

The only one I honestly think could change is DoK if GW start messing with the Dark Elf army left in Cities of Sigmar. Otherwise they all feel pretty safe armies - Ossiarchs might even get a decent range update and at the very least are getting a cool Warcry Warband.

So for me its keep those armies - the only one I might expand (and this is liekly near the end of 4th) is Slaves to Darkness.

One of the players on the Facebook Beasts of Chaos page has suggested using the old beastmen an StD... he had some very good "counts as" and it looks solid!
I "May" try that as I have a lot of the old goats... but soooo many are unpainted!...

At this point I am unsure.
We been struggling to keep players for age of sigmar, so I not sure if it’s really much plan if it’s just us that can do what we want.

So for now I will continue and buy minis I like, play the rules I think are more fun.

Skaven may go right into Mordheim if I get the box.

My local play group has a lot more AoS players in it, so there's definitely more of a scene for it than there used to be, locally. I plan to get more of my Stormcast up and running, including their half of whatever the edition launch box is. I also hope to have a full Kruleboyz army (I have a full army for 3rd, not sure how viable it'll be in 4th), so that I'll have options. Not happy that a bunch of my Stormcast have been sunsetted (had a fair bit of the Sacrosanct stuff), but I'll adapt.

My armies (re-counted and updated on 11/1/23, including modeled wargear options):
Dark Angels: ~15000 Astra Militarum: ~1200 | Adeptus Custodes: ~1900 | Imperial Knights: ~2000 | Sisters of Battle: ~3500 | Leagues of Votann: ~1200 | Tyranids: ~2600 | Stormcast Eternals: ~5000

Wait for the Lumineth codex and pray that the upcoming book won't turn the army in to a Taclis+expensive monster kits or playable army consits of 99,99% of new releases.

I also hope to finaly be able to buy Dawnriders. Maybe GW will print out a few of them and then send a percent of those to be sold in eastern europe and out of those some make it to Poland, and to one of the two stores I go to.
And that no one buys 3 boxes of them, before I can get my hands on them.

I'm painting up a bunch of models. I'm angry about Beasts of Chaos as it took me a long time to assemble and build my BoC army. I really enjoyed them as they played very differently from my Maggotkin, Hedonites, and Slaves to Darkness. I guess I'm just moving most of the army to disciples because I was heavily invested in Tzangors.

I've got Ogors which are fun as well so I'm using this time to finish basing and painting up my characters. I've also got a metric ton of vampires counts that just need to be painted as well - mainly a VLoZD and some Blood Knights. that need to

I finished painting my Beasts of Chaos army the week before AOS was announced. My shop quoted me as saying, "I'm looking forward to using my Beasts of Chaos army as my main 4.0 list! I'm also looking forward to seeing where GW takes my goat men!" About 2 weeks later and my buddies are sending me those humane society videos with that Sarah Mcglochlan song (spelling?).

I'm doubling down on Maggotkin and Hedonites to start this edition because I don't trust that GW wouldn't get rid of Chaos Warriors, Chosen, and Knights. I'm painting up my Glottkin and for the Hedonites I've got 22 more archers to start painting while I need to touch up 5 slick blades, 11 archers, 20 demonettes, and some characters (sigvald, the demonettes with the mechanical tendrils and mirror, and the arrogant sword dude with shield). Then I've got a Keeper of Secrets my wife bought me for Christmas/birthday that I need to inbox and assemble.

Despite having a load of Nighthaunt (all built, mostly painted) and a pretty robust Kruleboyz army (half built, 1/4 painted) I'm going in with Stormcast... I've got the Dominion Thunderstrike dudes, and will prop these up with the new starter dudes plus a few extra bits.

I just really want to get playing ASAP so planning on a building and playing day at the FLGS on launch day.

Once I saw they upped the points per game to make it easier for tourney organizers I was worried. Then they made set table layouts for each mission then it was a hard pass for me on AoS 4th. Just like I won't play 40K 10th because of that nonsense. It's so GD boring to no longer have beautiful thematic tables or strategically challenging ones, just so the tourney crowd has even more predictability for them to deck build around. It also doesn't help that my only army was Beast of Chaos, though if I cared, there's some cool people who would let me use theirs.

I already have daemons of tzeentch and thousand sons for 40K, so I just need to paint some kairic acolytes and characters and I’ll have a solid disciples of tzeentch army. I have a pile of mostly dominion kruleboys as well, but I won’t have them ready for launch.

I’ve never played AOS but I’ve been curious as the game has evolved

I need to look at my stormcast And see what models from my old ones are still usable. I know liberators are gone, but New liberators exactly the same so I will be using my old models, Some stuff however, has properly disappeared so cannot use those. Sequitors was one, I had Castigators and the Ballista too which is no more.
So it’s a lot to think over really. Is it even worth doing a Stormcast army still.
It’s all on Sprue still, I do have the dominion stuff which is still fine.. but.. I dunno.

I envision:
A) assembling new Skaven in the immediate future.
B) doing the usual new edition ritual of updating my army rosters. Probably starting with the Skaven.
C) and then I'll get around to actually playing!

D) Army wise? Maybe this'll be the year I finally put a DoK force on the table.

I dug out and painted ten Kairic Acolytes plus a magister and Magister on disc. This, coupled with my demons of Tzeentch and some tzaangors from my 1k sons gives me a decent little Disciples force, plus a complete spearhead I can play.

I also have some endless spells on the workbench:

Building up the new ardboys kits now that their warscroll has been leaked and it's confirmed spears/choppas have been rolled together into one profile. Definitely a nice glow up to the classic Black Orcs in terms of having more aesthetic synergy with the rest of the Ironjawz line, though I still think the old Black Orcs kit really holds up well.
