Subject: Best way to remove very old dried up stick on labels from a metal model
If it's only metal dunk it into acetone/nail remover, and let it rest for a few hours. That's what I do with my old metals to clear the gunk.

Stickers would best be removed with a product like Goo-Gone. Spray it, let sit a few minutes, and they peel right off. Then you can get to removing the paint.
