Monolith Games acquired the Solomon Kane assets from the now defunct Mythic Games.

They are releasing an updated version of the Savage Worlds Kane RPG along with a huge box of miniatures.

Check it out:

I got all the miniatures from the original KS years ago and they are a distinct step above CMON level boardgame miniatures in my experience. They all have nicely sculpted scenic bases. Be warned they are quite tall and imo would look out of place with 28mm fantasy stuff like Frostgrave/Oathmark, etc.

Some nice minis there.

I picked up an expansion for this at a deep discount because I wanted to see how the models were. Really great models made from decent plastic but damn was it tough to cut the models off the integral bases to match the rest of my collection:

There's still a lot of models in that KS I want but I don't need all of them.

100 models for 120 Eurobux...

Tempting. Not tempting enough. But tempting.

Did Solomon Kane ever encounter a wendigo?

Yes, yes he did.

Spoiler:

You can clearly see Solomon is on the top left with Wendigo on the lower right, proving they were once in the same room together.

My friend has the SK KS, and the miniatures have very good details. Wouldn't say they're better than CMON. Didn't compare the scale. They are the usual pre-assembled soft boardgame plastic, not hard plastic on a sprue.

RPG system is based on Savage Worlds, which has been around for a long time. SW is more miniatures based than other "theatre of the mind" RPG's, and can be played as a tactical miniatures game, or conventional RPG. Good system for one-shot games as well.

If you are a SK fan and want a casual miniatures skirmish game / RPG, yes, you want this.

How is Savage Worlds, complexity wise? Could I conceivably GM this for just two players, or is it the very D&D full party paradigm or bust?

Probably gonna gamble on the system as it sounds very cool, and the value is wild!

Savage Worlds is a much simpler core game system that's honestly one of the better introduction rpgs out there. It's not stupid simple but its just complex enough to be interesting without you needed to read the rules multiple times during a game session.

Not only that but there use to be a Savage Worlds Solomon Kane book years and years ago and Monolith brought back the original writer of that to do what's basically a revised edition which is cool.

Works for two players! : https://www.reddit.com/r/savageworlds/comments/viao5e/is_this_good_for_1_gm_and_2_players/

Not sure how to play the demo with two players, but you could just strip them of their Hinderances, Edges, and Gear, and play them as allied NPC's, if the players need them at all?

That sounds PERFECT. We've been RPG players in the past, but are so put off D&D 5E which just feels like homework for players and GM alike. Seeing 5E played like 40k with players min-maxing out of five books was repulsive. :-p

Thanks guys!
