So, I wanted to put something together to showcase all of my completed Adepta Sororitas models, painted in Order of the Sacred Rose colours. This is the first time I have been able to actually focus enough to paint a full army of the same faction.
First up is my 2000 point ‘Kill It With Fire’ list. If anyone is interested then the whole list can be found here, but basically they like fire. A lot.

Next up I threw together all of the models that I have painted, along with a bunch of terrain. The mat comes from a product called ‘Battlefield in a Box’. I then hacked up the eponymous box and used it to make bases for additional papier-mâché scenery. These Adepta Sororitas are responding to reports of a xenos threat that has been led to their world by a group of heretical cultists, and they believe that there is no such thing as an excessive show of force.

Finally, some individual dioramas:

A brave immolator pilot shows no fear when confronting a vicious xenos monstrosity

Celestian Sacresant Aveline draws upon the power of the Thorn of the White Rose to confront a depraved Slaaneshi daemon princess

Junith Eruita surveys the battlefield whilst thinking back on the unlikely series of events that resulted in the Canoness Superior of the Order of Our Martyred Lady fighting alongside an army of the Order of the Sacred Rose

Pious Vorne hefts her zealot’s vindicator to meet the attack of a nimble Slaanesh-worshiping cultist

A less faithful man might buckle when confronted with the might of a Necron Monolith, but this Ministorum priest knows that when the Emperor stands with him then there is no foe that he cannot defeat

A canoness conducts a ritual on the balcony of her battle sanctum, using the torch of the blessed statue to ignite her brazier of holy fire in preparation for the battle ahead

The renowned xenos coward known as Shadowsun is forced to flee when the supposedly advanced technology of her XV22 Stealthsuit proves no match for the zeal of the Ecclesiarchy’s penitent engines

I really like that white you've done - closer to ivory than the boring 'just plain white' white the Order normally has.

Thanks! I originally did that because I thought it would be easier to shade them and so on compared to using pure white, but it ended up working really well. I have been told that it makes them look like living statues

It looks really good! And I hear you on choosing colour schemes based on ease on painting - my original choice of Argent Shroud came down to me finding 'just drybrush silver over black' to be the simplest option!

Great to see a big army painted in unity. Most of the time I think its far better satisfaction to have lots of units painted up in a coherrent scheme than a single character painted in master class. (not saying I have any complaints about your characters )

The bone coloured armour looks great with the warm orange of the fire effects.

Living statues is a good way to put it. Like you're attacking someone with pieces of various Imperial Cult temples and statues. The full army looks very unified too.

Excellent work. I love the fire!

Your force hopefully removed that vile xeno invasion force from existence.

Just one thing, I'd love to see a close up of one of your bases. I'm trying to figure out how to base my 30k custodes force.

Master Tang: Okay, so, here were my options: A, Quickly duck sideways, dodge the claw and take him out with a spinning back-kick. Or B, take the claw in the face, then roll on the ground, and die.
Takes the claw to the face and rolls over
Master Tang: Hm, should have gone with A.

Thanks all

I have closer pics of a couple of the characters that maybe show the bases better (Aveline's rock is part of the plastic though). They are nothing special - a few clumps of sand stuck on with PVA glue. Whole thing gets painted medium grey and then has nuln oil swirled all over it. The sand then gets dry brushed back to medium grey then I add further highlights of dark red and a touch of orange. Hope that helps!

It does... I'm obsessing over bases and I haven't finished buying the army yet.

One more thing. Did you use a paint pen, or brush paint the lettering?

I used a black marker

I have a super fine tip one that I sometimes use for purity seal scrolls and the like, but that one was a regular small marker from a stationery store. You have to give it plenty of time to dry before varnishing or bad things happen

I would have prefered to freehand paint on some gothic lettering but I just don't have the skills for that. I think using a pen looks bad and kind of ruins the model, but I didn't have any other way to do it.

My attempts to add a name to piece of heraldry, look like I am creating my own new alphabet.

Maybe it would be easier to play chaos.

Do you remember what the brand or size was ( I too have a penmanship skill of a medical professional in an earthquake).

They are called 'uni Super Ink'. One with a 'fine' nib and one that says 'extra fine brush'. Apparently they use oil-based pigment ink, which probably isn't ideal. The nib on the 'fine' one is pretty gigantic compared to 40k models, so is only useful for relatively large lettering like on Junith there.
