I have been out of the 40k/Kill Team gaming scene for a while.

I was hoping to try out the new Kill Team edition, but I am a little cash strapped, since my Custodes 30k/40k armies have eaten every spare dollar I have set aside for gaming.

Is there any chance the Custodes will be viable in this edition of Kill team, or is there another faction that has a low cost entry point?

There will be undoubtably a compendium book on the way, and I'd surprised if Custodes were missing.

Casual gaming, mostly solo-coop these days.

Custodes in this edition? Who knows.

As for the lowest cost KT? Itd have to be SM (Angels of Death). Why? Because all you need is a Capt/Lt & 5 assorted Intercessors of some sort.
Surely with all the SMs floating about out there you can source 6 Marines cheaper than GW would sell you a box of 5/10 for....

I think the opposite - I don't expect a Compendium like the last one for this edition.

In '21 without the Compendium Kill Team would have been a game of just 2, later 4 teams playing the same matchup again and again. It needed a quick fix of Compendium to create the necessary variety.

In '24 there are a lot of teams in the game, from some points of view (like balance or mental load) even too many. No need for a Compendium now, introducing so many teams in one go would rather deal a fatal blow to any attempts at balancing the mess created by exactly that (introducing new rules for all old teams at once in KT24).

I went looking, but is there a list of all the Kill teams that exist for the new edition?

I kinda went full tilt inro Custodes and Imperial Knights baed on appearances. Not so much on gameplay, just my inner me remembering models I always wanted, but could never afford, and buying then before I even looked at the Rulebook(s).

Have you tried "kill team rules" ? The first search result that pops up is the one you need:
https://www.warhammer-community.com/en-gb/articles/xfV8vUOg/download-the-kill-team-app-and-faction-rules-today/

You may have also just downloaded the KT app.

Sorry, I'm as Technologically adapt right now as a Roc. (aka as much as a nonexistent mythical bird) I'll get better, just give me a bit to acclimate.

I remember when the GW community site had its own forums.

Plus my brain refuses to believe GW gives away rules for free.
