Just trying to get myself back into the grove of playing the Old World. I'm tryin to balanced fun, fluff and playabilty atm (which is alwaya a problem with a Khorne list and magic). Ideally the BSB will go with with Marauders, with his gift making them a litle more usuable. Ideally, if I get the charge off, and keep dropping my opponents I to 1 and pushing them back, I should be able to keep striking first. The wizard then goes with the chaos warriors, some of the items are to make him seem a bit more like a warriors priest and able to semi fight. I did originally have the prince with wings, even with frenzy, he's been fairly efffective. I'm in several minds about how to equip him, armour of silvered steal looks very tempting for a 3+ save, but the +1D or even crimson armour of dargan looks brilliant.

I've run a bunch of Khorne lists, and they're great fun. The list almost plays itself - close the gap ASAP, then just spend the rest of the game either making or failing charges, doing whatever the dice tell you. skeleton is right that its far from the most competitive list, but so what? Sitting there with Tzeentch gunlines all day will win a lot of games but how memorable will any of those games be?

The Daemon Prince is a huge risk. They're so vulnerable to getting killed by combat res you really have to pick and choose your battles. Frenzy opens you up to getting baited, challenged, then killed with static combat res. I know it'd be a bit lame to have Khorne through the list but then have an undivided Daemon Prince, so what about a Chaos Lord with the mark of Khorne instead?

Is the Sorcerer going in the Chaos Warriors? In my experience the game winning spell in Daemonology is Daemonic Vessel, and the caster needs to be in a unit to make that work. The trick then is if he is in the unit, they can't march or you lose the ability to cast the Summoning and Vortex of Chaos early in the game. I haven't quite figured out the best way to resolve this. One build I'm playing with has the unit champ take Taskmaster's Scourge for an extra D3 movement. That way the unit can still get up the board a bit, and have a greater charge range in later turns, so not marching in the 1st turn doesn't hurt too much. Other option is to cast Steed of Shadows and Fly 12" in the first turn.

I was looking at the idea of taking a chaos lord, I didn’t even realise daemon princes crumbled, ekk.. must be the 8th Ed mind again.

The wizard I am yet to try out with my khorne guys, I usually end up taking him out tbh 😅 But yeah, he’s meant to be with the warriors. I am also wondering about using a marauder list instead. I have plenty of those, but chaos warriors as special feels really meh. They aren’t no even that great now.

I’ve also been debating using a bone crusher giant, but using a war mammoth as a proxy (as the rules and states would probably work).
