My FLGS hosts a painting competition each year. There's lots of stiff competition, so I never really enter expecting to win anything. I mostly go to meet other and to see what creative and well crafted miniatures there are in my community. But I was in for a surprise. They called my name! I ended up coming in third in the singles category. It's certainly a validating experience to actually receive an award for my efforts. It really makes me feel I have progressed as a miniature painter. Maybe banish away some of that impostor syndrome.

Looking good!
A well deserved award, and honestly, if this quality only give you third place the competition is pretty hard. Congrats
Really crisp details and great balance in the color sheme.
Some stark contrasting colour to make it "pop" might move it up a level in the competition, but I like it the way it is now.

Rather than a new thread, I'd thought throw up the Farstalker Kinband I finally finished. A split these with my brother and it was fun to play around with different skin tones. Kroot are so cool.

Phenomenal work! I especially like the bold use of bright orange for those more scifi weapons. A mix of skin tones keeps the monotony away. Kudos!
