I wanted to paint a new CF model and I hadn’t made one in years. I vaguely remembered that the recipe used a purple wash and black so I hit the google search hoping to find the original recipe and landed on my own comment here on Dakka. Fairly easy to recognize since the thumbnail is in the front of my model case normally.

Which despite the fact that I am loathe to use the last of my Necron Abyss until I can color match it. I used Goldens Soflat Phthalo Blue Green Shade and a purple and black wash I think I’ve matched the tone pretty well.

Nice. Being the answer to your own question must be exhilirating.

This is why we should all document what we do as we go along.

I will frequently grab a shovel and a bullwhip and go for archeological digs into my blog to find out WTF I was doing last time I painted something that hasn't seen the light of day in a long while.

I don’t use image searches on the internet very often, but have seen my models crop up before, which is a little unnerving.

I had this the other week; I was idly looking for motivation so did a Dakka gallery search for top rated Necromunda terrain and had a bunch of my own work popping up in the first few pages. Which is both heartening and terrifying!

I've been digging into the Dakka archives lately...

Haven't found Cthulu yet, but I'm still looking.

I feel like I really nailed this color match considering a 14 year gap.

Excellent job! Good thing you found your own advice to be helpful.
