In preparation for starting my Custodes army, I've been toying with some less standard paintjobs on some old space marine models. This is the first attempt at verdigris, which I'm quite happy with.

Now, I know I made mistakes, it's too opaque for one, and also coming back to painting after a ~7 year absence from painting I made the mistake of diluting the paint with water instead of thinner. This made some very ugly streaks on the flat surfaces which weren't intended, and those are the parts I've crossed out.

What tricks, techniques or methods can I do to improve this?

What paints do you use. modelpaints are normal on a water based medium so hobbyist dont get anny exposure to toxic fummes. Its not to my taste but it looks oke.

Copper Custodes! Got asked if our quicky metal workup would go with other colors, so we decided to change the color of the studio Custodes army to show another combo. Tarnished Copper is super easy this way

STEP 1 - Base the model in Mahogany.
STEP 2 - Airbrush or smudge some Jade on randomly.
STEP 3 - Add Turquoise randomly over the Jade.
STEP 4 - Drybrush Bronze (or mix a darker Copper) with our DD2 drybrush.
STEP 5 - Drybrush Copper toward the highlights.
STEP 6 - Drybrush White Gold (or mix a bright Copper) in just the high spots.
STEP 7 - Enjoy your tarnished Copper models!
