I am assembling some Sisters of Battle Seraphim and Zephyrim units which come with the new GW bent flight stands. For the purposes of storage and transport, I do not really want to permanently glue them to these stands and instead either pin or magnetise them instead.

Does anyone have any experience with dealing with these stands? Any advice for ensuring a stable connection that is not too intrusive on the model.

Still waiting for Godot.

I’ve not tried to pin/mag them. Pins I think would be better, due to the odd angles. But that’s just a guess.

I’ve built a few of them, but when building my supressors who use the same stands I just built up the bases with the debris for them to perch on. Hate those stands.

I hate those curved flying stands with the tiny connection point! My only advice would be to not use them

At this point I'd rather use a thin piece of brass rod drilled into one of the mini's feet. It's a secure connection and you can conceal the rod with a clever placing of ruins/rocks/whatever on the base.

Edit: Ninja'd! Yeah, what Nevelon said

Add me to the list of people who ditched them and went with brass rod and scenic bases.

You can add them to pillars and bits of wall, like the one the Vindicare Assassin comes with.

Thank you for all of your responses. I will probably be going with using a metal rod to support them, though I think I may still try and attach it to their backpacks so as not to destroy detail on the model.

For the other idea of scenic terrain, is there a good place I could obtain some that looks decent for cheap? I want something that looks a bit more fancy than just sprue sticking out of the ground but buying 15 Vindicares to base a single Army of Faith box set is a tad outside of my price range.

How’s your bits box?

I used Eldar bits. The crimson hunter has parts to make it an wraithfighter, and the wave serpent is based off the falcon. So putting those together gets you some unused parts.

One building kit might be enough for your needs.

How are you baseing your army?

I don’t know if they make them for sisters, but I know there have been 3rd party smoke plumes for jetpacks. Or you could make your own with wire and rough flock. Although angels descending on pillars of smoke is not really the image of the SoB jump troops.
