Sadly the following was posted by the Reptilian Overlords on their Discord Forum yesterday regarding the status of the plastic SpaceNam Heavy Weapons being developed.

"I've answered this question several times. I'm really burnt out on spacenam and I just have very little interest to do more. I know y'all love them but they were never a huge seller for me so without that financial incentive like some better game rules for catachan, you're gonna have to wait until the personal inspiration comes back around."

I understand, but is still disappointing for those of us that feel the SpaceNam are just fantastic and were really looking forward to their release in plastic.

For those of us that don't have 3D Printers and the difficulty (and reasonable price) in finding a quality local 3D Printer business, plastic was just fantastic.

I guess we'll just have to wait and see. I understand there is a chance for GWS redoing Catachan in 2026

At the point that GW redo Catachans the market for Spacenam is probably going to evaporate, unless they seriously drop the ball with it, which seems unlikely.

Yea, when Catachan becomes a standalone faction, Atlantic selling 30 Spacenams at the cost of 10 Catachans sounds like a terrible idea!

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

You may be underestimating the GW Stockholm Syndrome

I have a Catachan Kill Team made of Reptilian Overlords Spacenam models and they are glorious

They're sold in boxes of 20 for about the cost of a 10-man box of cadians, and don't include bases, and don't have heavy weapon options. So they're a *somewhat* cheaper alternative that can't be used at official (or in my experience, unofficial) events and inevitably aren't as good as the official ones will be when they return. The opportunity to make money off Spacenam is now, not later. That's all I'm saying, and there's no need to be sarcastic about it.

Do the Cadian's come with heavy weapons? The description just says "a host of special weapons." The Cadians look like they are $52 retail for 10 vs $39.94 retail for 20 of the Space nam.

Edit: Though I agree, now would be better to have them as an option BEFORE hand.

Cadians don't come with heavy weapon options but they are available, is what I meant. The starting point for this discussion is that they aren't available for spacenam and won't be anytime soon.

Cadians are £31.50 for 10 Spacenam are £30 for 20 without bases.

Unless, of course, they decide the entire Catachan planet decides to join forces* and go on a 'stealth mission' on an unknown jungle planet.

*Of course, only a small handfull of Catachan will be around in the form of a Killteam expansion.

What kind of unofficial event is enforcing GW-only policies? Mod edit - removed. Anyway it doesn't matter, Catachan is a cursed faction; people keep rumouring GW are redoing them and they never do. RO are more interested in their fantasy line. Knightsoul put out some cracking STLs but now seem much more interested in occasionally doing single character minis than fleshing out the core offerings.

To be a fan of steroid-abusing gristle-men with unfeasibly large guns is to be disappointed alas.

Sadly the two biggest indie GW event organisers in my area both ban non-GW models from their events. Big part of why I don't bother. I have a huge guard army made of WGA bulldogs and grognards, for context.

I have 2 regiments of Catachans. The Space Nam guys fit in perfectly, and are a much needed addition for parts and variation.

And for those of you slagging off my Main army, clear off. I've been here longer then you, and your uppity new guy smarty comments only shows that you haven't played against the Catachans, just yet. Those carried heavy weapons are a perfect version for a army of light fighters.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Aren’t plastic Space Nam HW teams on Wargames Atlantic’s prep list at this point? I may be misunderstanding but that would suggest they are in the works.

11th November post saying they’re in File Prep- tho maybe that means not plastic? I don’t think so though:

If i remember rightly the US fairly recently tightened up the rules on determining where stuff is made

https://www.compliancegate.com/country-of-origin-requirements-united-states/

so while tempting to import 'cheap' sprues and other components and assemble them into boxes of wargaming figures in the USA wouldn't count

It would be down to a court to make a final determination, but the current administration is unlikely to take anybody 'cheating' on their tariffs well so i imagine prosecutions would happen (which would be enough to ruin a small firm, and scare respectable big players into not doing it)
