hey Fellas! I have a new campaign currently funding on kickstarter looking to fund a sprue of super modular hard plastic orcs. 60 parts ( bow arms and bows not pictured below....working on that ) all universally interchangeable. 5 total figures per sprue 5 sprues per boxed set for 25 total per box. Sprue is being produced and cast by Archon Studios so HIGH quality for sure! Hopefully yall like what you see! Go and check out the Kickstarter!

Very intriguing for my 40K feral orks.

I like them. But I am not an orc guy. But if you try again for humans... or for the Thundarr type set you mentioned I would be in for that. I wish you luck on this.

Question though. Your last campaign was going to use Wargames Atlantic and this one you switched to Archon. Just curious if you could share any reasons on that. Between the two, I like Wargames Atlantic more, but I know that other opinions may vary. Just curious.

Orcs really aren't my thing either but I feel like I've been waiting in line for the Tre plastic ride for so long I should back.

I've been having fun with Guards of Traitor Toll and think doing a non-human monster set for that would be cool and this would be a good start.

They're nicely detailed, but the proportions look a little off to me. I think they would look better with their heads about 10% bigger, or their bodies slightly less wide.

More plastic options are always good, though!

Good to see you still around!

I'm only familiar with Archon, but they make plastics for various familiar companies, such as Army Painter and Mantic.

Those are some fine looking Orcs, Tre! But unfortunately I'm not currently in the market for any.

Looks like the kickstarter was cancelled. Got a notification this morning.

It's honestly hard to sell people on a 30k crowd fund. 750 backers at the lowest pledge level and that would be hard to get without really having a strong social media presence. Tre managed to hit that number with his first Crowd funding with Troll forge but that was over 10 years ago and a different time when there wasn't anywhere as much competition for people's money.

I also think the sculpts themselves make it less appealing too as there's not a lot of arm variety -- especially the left. Basically 5/8 arms are the same and the other two aren't much different pose wise. Limits the product more to people playing mass battle games which aren't nearly as popular anymore.

In general the poses were... not the best. I had to look again to see what variety the legs were in.

I didn't dislike them. Just not an orc guy... and while i had debated on support just to support, they were a bit expensive. $40 for 25 orcs. Oathmark orcs are $40 ($39 and change) on Amazon right now for 30. I don't expect a large discount on Kickstarter. though that used to be the case, but I also don't expect to pay more than comparable stuff at retail.

If it was for something I am interested in... like the Thundarr stuff or even the human set that was tried and cancelled last time, I would have been ok with the price.

They're alright but a bit far from other orc minis on the market, so... hard to get a force all in the same style.

The old meta is dead and the new meta struggles to be born. Now is the time of munchkins.

Yep. Poses too repetitive and the hobby is *way* crowded for orcs.

Since they're digitally sculpted, mebbe a Patreon or other non-physical distribution? Less risk, and a chance to rebuild his reputatation?

He's already done that. Sent out all the STLs this morning.
