Armybuilder is an excellent program, however please clean the output before posting as it is unnecessary difficult to read with all the minutiae.

Not the Tau expert here, I have only been playing a while but it seems to me that if you come across any type of army in lots of tanks they are deader than dead, you will table them, but if going against most armies you have more tank killing than you need. Have you thought about a third piranha and maybe 2 ion and 1 rail head?

Also 11 is a bad number in a squad, go for even numbers for your FCW, and in my experience, Sushis w/ bonding are a must in FCW squads.

Drano doesn't exactly scream "toy" to me.

excuse me, but im mad.

hmmm. i have no experience with tau, just building some my own atm. a few thoughts.

if you have your firewarriors in devilfishes, you want them to move, shoot, move. im not sure about the eng. weapon names, but i would not take the weapons that can be fired only if you didnt move. instead take the smaler assault rifles.maybe you did that allready - im not sure about the name. anyway, i would not place crap infantry in crap tanks wich are to expansive. even in a pathfinder team i do not want to buy them so why would i want to buy them for firewarriors ?

i mathed a bit with theese special weapons like cyclic ion blaster. they are all far to expansive. drop them

the XV8 sahs`vres are also far to expansive. your better of with the the sash`ui XV8. may be my misstake, but dont your HQs loose theire "independent charakter" status and therefor "not allowed to shoot at if not closest possible target" if they have a bodyguard ? if thats the case, they are better of without bodyguard anyway.

the elite seems to be plain standart and just fine.maybe a bonding knife on stealth suites ?

piranhas - uhm yea. i dont know.i heared that you should have at least one for table quarters.

XV88 - if you use theese as anti tank or anti meq you should use many. they shoot more often then railheads do, and they die much faster. if you want to go with them you have to ensure that you have
- enough firepower to blast weapons that can harm your XV88 (mainly stuff that denies your 2+ save !) in your first turn. you have the ability to do so with the XV88 itself, as its good in shooting std. infantry and meq and tanks.
- enough XV88 to survive his first turn.
- enough XV88 to equip them with +BS rather then the ability to move. you have one of the armies that can bring on massive firepower. why play a duck and cover ? its unlikly that the enemy will win a gunduell. so maximise your advantage here. do not take so few that your opponent could bring on more.

in my eyes the plan with XV88 should be much like the us airforce behaved in the last wars(no political discussion please!, this is not meant emotional, nor in a moral way). airplains are maybe a good thing to comprae the XV88 with. they are fragile, they have massive range and massive firepower.if you use them you cannot use only some, you need theire ability to deal damage to protect them from damage. strike first, kill everything that could shoot back, then kill the rest without risk while using your firewarriors as blocker and your XV8 teams (maybe with melta instead of missiles) on short range, if enemy CC units should come to close to your XV88.

shieldrones on the XV88 is an option i thought about also. i think 2 drones for 3 XV88 is a very save, defensive, option. 2 for 2 feels like to much. i would focus on the stuff that your army does well rather then improving the stuff that it doesnt do well. more firepower.a much bigger threat then beeing shot to death (and therefor using shielddrones to avoid that) is to get into CC and beeing not able to shoot at all, nor beeing able to shoot at the enemy with your other teams.in CC your team is dead anyway, no use for drones here.

remember, this are just some teoretical thoughts. i have not tested anything described above in a game yet, so it might be nonesense.

hmm thought about this for a while and atm i think its the better idea to use multitracker instead of +BS on the XV88 if you use many and though can use them static.you loose 13.8% of hits from BS 4 TL to BS 3 TL. this wound also increase the effect of markerlights wich in general are quite effective for XV88 in my eyes.

if you lookt at markerdrones as +10 pts per XV88 in a 3 man team and use theire marker if it hits (50%) as a +BS only you can see them as a +0.5 BS for 10 pts per XV88 which is twice as expansive as the standart +1BS for 10 pts, BUT can be taken additional to the multitracker. maybe ill math out later on if an cost increase of theese 10 points makes them fire more efficient vs the different T values. atm i think so (both rail and missiles will benefit from it).
