I was thinking about the Raptors after skimming a friends Imperial Armor - Taros Campaign book this weekend, and was wondering what would be good/fluffy traits to use.  Definately infiltrating, but what else (if anything?)

The clever combatant imposes his will on the enemy, but does not allow the enemy's will to be imposed on him.

The Hammer

For modelling purposes, Scions of Mars would look wicked and fits with the backstory of the Chapter's Tech Marines saving it on Jemadal. In terms of tabletop effectiveness, however, I'm not sure if it would be the way to go...and do you want a force of "Jungle Fighters" to have a semi-siege emphasis? (The only trick I can think of with Scions is dual Vindicators with PotMS castled with the HQ.) And if you wanted to exploit the modelling possibilities - hulking Terminator sergeants stealthily advancing on their prey, claw servos whirring in anticipation - you're stuck with Eye to Eye as the drawback.

If you want them to be Minor Deviation, Cleanse and Purify or Trust Your Battle Brothers (Sombre or Courageous) would each work reasonably well with infiltrators, and Flesh Over Steel would be the fluffiest - IMHO - drawback. Massed infiltrators with a single Whirlwind and maybe some pushback boltgun Devastators in support.

Just my $0.018.

When soldiers think, it's called routing.

The Hammer

Actually, an army of dreadnoughts, scouts and veterans would look pretty cool. You could say that they represent a force from the chapter some time after it came out of the jungle. The veterans are the scouts that survived the jungle and the dreadnoughts would be the fully-fledged marines who fell. Somewhere between a 2:1 and 1:2 ratio of shooty to fighty units with possibly a Techmarine leading it...
