I've posted a similar, if not identicle, list before. I'm posting it again to get some more opinions. I've used the list in many test games, mostly against Capt k and Mahu with good results. I'll continue to tweak it for a while, but as with any lysander wing, the general outline is already created. For the most part I intend to use this army in the Adepticon '07 Gladiator.

HQ

Lysander- command squad, 2 assault cannons-370 points

Librarian- fear/fury, terminator armor, thunder hammer, command squad, 2 assault cannons, furious charge-409 points

Elite

Terminator squad- 2 assault cannons, tank hunters-255

Terminator squad- 2 assault cannons, tank hunters-255

Terminator squad- 2 assault cannons, tank hunters-255

Troops

6 scouts- sergeant, teleport homer, power fist-111

5 scouts- sergeant, teleport homer, powerfist-98

Fast Attack
Tornado- 80 points

Tornado- 80 points

I think I would prefer to keep the Lib force weapon for strength 5 (furious charge) initiative 6 to kill characters and include another scout (or two) for your five man squad. It seems the fists and hammer would be redundant except for shaking a vehicle. Looks like a very competative list.

Me_Person, How do you use the Tornado's?  When I played your list you did not use them and I have been thinking about adding them to my First Company List.

The rest of the list is very effective as I have played it with my COD 1500 point Guard army.  Me_Person won, but it was a fun game.

See you on Saturday.

The librarian still has his force weapon, the hammer is a second close combat weapon that I took for two reasons, 1. extra attack 2. To be able to kill huge nasty things

Warrior 50, the game we played was at 1500 level, so I didn't have enough points to use the land speeders. I use them for a few roles. 1. Turn 6 24" move to the objective 2. for extra assault cannons... he he he.

Hehe...what's your answer to a SOB army? hehe. Last time we played you got smoked like chiba by my SOB. Divine Guidance hurts your low model count.

One week from Saturday, we need to do a test game. My Gladiator list versus yours.

Honestly, I would do what the good Captian has done, and start experimenting with new powers for your librairan. Fury and Fear are great, but I have found Fury to be a little lackluster as you can never affect as many units as fear can. Plus, once you get stuck in CC those powers are useless. I would switch Fury with Veil of Time, re-rolls on a thunder-hammer anyone.

Current Armies: Blood Angels, Imperial Guard (40k), Skorne, Retribution (Warmachine), Vampire Counts (Fantasy)

Hmmm... perhaps I'll consider the change. However, to do so I must drop 14 points worth of stuff. I could drop 1 scout from the 6 man squad and make one of the scout sgts have a power weapon instead of a fist.

Fear (Primary Power) + Fury (Secondary Power) = 14 Points

Veil (Primary Power) + Fear (Secondary Power) = 25 Points

So only a 11 point difference.

Or you could drop the PF's off the squad anyways, since all they are there for are a delivery system for the Termies. They also get wasted so fast, that spending points on PF seems like a luxury spend to me. Capt K

Hey, If I drop one speeder, 1 scout, and both power fists, I can get each of the elite squads up to 6 guys. Should I do that?

I'd rather have the extra scoring unit in the speeder.

Yeh, how dare you try and make a competetive list using the strengths of your army. Next time try building a list that just rolls over. As for calling it a Lysander wing could that be because it's based around terminators?   You need to change your philosophy instead of all those assault cannon armed terminator (fluff anyone) you need to go all 10 man tac squads and Rhinos. Leave your psykers at home they are way to efficient.

Me_person, I see your logic now with the T-hammer, if by some circumstance your left going last make it hurt or thump that armor.

It takes a lot more to build an army that has real character AND kicks arse on the table. Anyone can take as much as possible of whatever is the best an army has to offer.

Thats why it's min/maxed.

Also, the thunder hammer also serves a higher purpose in the gladiator (I hope), I might be running into forge world greater daemons, heirophant bio-titans, gargatuan squigoths, ect...

Green Bloater, everyone, our resident motivational speaker ("Stop using a wheelchair and parking at handicapped spots, you'll be amazed at how many calories you can burn by crawling across a parking lot").

I'm interested in knowing how those scouts could possibly survive long enough to be of any use for the terminators? I would think with a Lysander list you would give scouts sniper rifles and have them sit back out of most weapons' ranges, but you have them tooled up for up close infiltration. If there are only 11 4+ save models on the board for the enemy to shoot at for 1-2 turns, how do you expect them to survive?

Granted, if there was a reasonable amount of LOS-blocking terrain I understand, but I'm imagining your standard RTT 3 hills and a tree base board.

Well, all the local rtts around here follow the 25% terrain rule, and adepticon certainly has ample terrain the hide around. They usually just sit there until the terminators come in.

Eldar starcannons can quickly shred that army.

Thats why I want to play against Lazarus' eldar army. To see how it would go. Haven't had a chance yet as every saturday has been packed with stuff. The necro, then a mega battle, then a rtt, and again a mega battle. No time for any non-event games.

Unless it's a heavy Vyper list with Falcons and Waveserpents I don't see how relevent Starcannons would be. If you take lots of gaurdian squads with starcannons pods with libs should own you. Same with Vypers and Wavserpents for that matter because pods can come down behind Waveserpents and Vypers are vunerable to bolters and storm bolters. The small guardian squad/starcannon army would be to easy to piecemeal. Drop and shoot up one whole squad and use the pod to block return fire from other units. Not buying it. A traditional marine list can be picked apart by starcannons but not all pod lists.

@ lemartes

I saw a Falcon heavy army very easily take apart a Lysander Wing. It was over almost as quickly as it began.

This list is for a Gladiator Tournament where "fluff" and "comp" matter not. However, it still has to be able to survive the crazy objectives in the tourney, so it isn't a cake walk. Green Bloater, this list isn't meant to impress..it's meant to kill. As for eldar taking it down, that is really a matter of what the eldar are bringing. Remember that he gets all his terminators at once...on one reserve roll. So he definitely has a huge advantage. However, the list isn't bullet proof either...hehe. Just ask him what happened when he faced off against my SOB...hehe.

@Lemartes: Don't forget that some of the squads have tank hunters and will shread Vypers and prolly take down a falcon or two.

3 falcons shooting at terminators will statistically kill one full squad a turn. However, one tank hunter termiantor squad gets 2 glancing hits against a falcon, statistically meaning that the falcon will at a bare minimum not be able to shoot next turn. Wave serpants and vypers will drop like flies under tank hunter assault cannon fire.

However, the list isn't bullet proof either...hehe. Just ask him what happened when he faced off against my SOB...hehe

Well, so every one knows, he got a crushing victory in a recon mission.

However, it still has to be able to survive the crazy objectives in the tourney, so it isn't a cake walk

Which brings me to my next concern. I know several battle point modifers, or perhaps even secondary or tertairy objectives, required you to kill your opponents lowest point unit first or for your most expensive unit to kill it's point value out of the enemy army. My cheapest unit is a land speeder, something not too difficult to kill. On a related note, my most expensive unit is a 409 point command squad, very killy yes, but I dont know if it alone could kill 409 points worth of stuff. Perhaps I could get some input on these concerns from those who were there...

Very similar to my friend's lysanderwing list...and one that got smoked utterly by my Gladiator-ready IG every time we played it.

Then again, I did have a 2 mystics in my army. Which always happened to be within 12" of a Baneblade.

Just curious what was the list that won the Gladiator last year? I am one of those that believes cheese cannot beat a well balanced army.

After checking the Adepticon website, the winning army of 2006's Gladiator was a drop pod Space Marine army. Apparently, the player also received a perfect score.

Also, next year's Eldar armies are going to look different. With everything that has gone around, there's been lots of rumint on Starcannon going to Heavy2 and Warwalkers having two of the same weapon only twin links it rather than getting all the shots. Crystal Targetting Matrix is not going to work as it currently does (no more move, shoot and move again).

2 Mystics near a Baneblade, one word; ewwwww. Please mommy, make the bad man stop.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

Papanurgle won the gladiator with his drop pods.

I think this is the link to his army list.
