Or it could just be that the Grenzer really is the Securitate as many had suspected. I mean, he is from Grenz Security.

Now, those new Haqqislam, I'm really liking. I actually liked the existing Ghulam hacker, but this new one looks much nicer. I just wish he had his visor down. CB is making it very hard for me to not want to buy all of Haqqislam.

I thought the Securitate were gonna be the AVA total cheap LI for Tunguska?

I like those Ghulam just fine. Hacker pose is like Icestorm Alguacil pose, more or less-- rifle down, finger pointing. Glad to see the box is 50%-50% too. Now I can field a nice Ghulam link.

200? Whoa, but Wayland sells to all of Europe too, no? Maybe my estimate of 500 sales in August was way too low. Ah well, I somehow don't mind being wrong about it.

Wayland is also a distributor for many small stores, so there's no guarantee that all the sales are simply private individuals.

We are not a distro of Infinity. At the moment Ice storm is outselling 7th edition in its first few days.

I'm not sure whether that is shocking with how well it is doing, or shocking with how badly 7th was received. It is impressive either way.

Of course, I'm sure longer term it wont come close to 40K numbers, but as an indicator of marketing tactics, it should be a big red flag to GW that they are doing it wrong.

Not so sure it wont come close to GW numbers. I mean, I know CB are tiny compared to GW, but there is a real buzz for infinity at the moment, and a real lethargy with GW. I'm not saying CB will suddenly get to the size of GW, but SKU vs SKU, I wouldn't be all that surprised if Icestorm breaks new ground in terms of product shifted for CB. If 3rd is as tightly written and polished as the previews seem to be, I can see Infinity explodng onto the wider scene.

PanO has been superior to us in options and cost since 1st Edition. But that trend can definitely shift in the new edition. The ORC appears to be paying a high cost for its BS14, I can only imagine how much cheaper the basic Shang Ji will be now.

At least the change to MSV3 means there's not so much gap between the Hsien and Aquila, even if they don't get points tweaks.

 Kanluwen wrote:
It's not a rename of the basic Invincible. It is an entirely new unit, purportedly HI classification but with points costs/stats equivalent to MI.

We know neither of those with any certainty. I still think the most likely is that the Zuyong Invincible is going to be a remake of the current Invincible, if just because the current unit doesn't have a distinct role compared to what we've been shown.

Of course he is, CB don't make plastic models.

Yes, I do know what you meant.

I do like the Al Hawwa hacker, but the Barid is just badass.

i was actually gonna make that joke, but chose not do. Dammit!

True that the Securitate needs some upgrading. The one in the starter box has an unappealing face, and worst of all, her hand is hovering into nothingness. It's like she's doing a weird curtsy if you don't put an object for her hand to rest on there.

Well you don't have to worry about the one in the starter box anymore.
Because the starter box is going to be gone, and she was never available any other way.

I'm excited and hesitant at the same time to see what they do with Tunguska. The new Spektr, Interventors, and Grenzer are a great direction but there is still room for things to go horribly wrong.

Go horribly wrong how? I love the new Tunguska stuff so far. I hope they redo the Szalamandra though.

Strange. There have been others who said that they use you as "their distributor" before.

Or am I thinking of another UK company?

From the video, Carlos seemed very excited about the new 3rdEd Hacker rules which he couldn't talk about.

Not really, Magic Phase is a I win button.

Peter: As we all know, Christmas is that mystical time of year when the ghost of Jesus rises from the grave to feast on the flesh of the living! So we all sing Christmas Carols to lull him back to sleep.
Bob: Outrageous, How dare he say such blasphemy. I've got to do something.
Man #1: Bob, there's nothing you can do.
Bob: Well, I guess I'll just have to develop a sense of humor.

Maybe hackers will be able to buff their allies or something. Add some sort of aiming bonus.

There's not even really phases in Infinity so there's not gonna be a magic/hacking phase.

But the same things you'd expect. Like Barzam says, buffs. Maybe debuffs like scrambling the targeting systems of the enemy. Maybe something that equates to EM ammo if the attack is successful, you talk their combi rifle into thinking it's out of ammo.

Maybe even the equivalent of training or buying ''spells'' in the form of equipment/profiles with additional/different hacking abilities. Like getting the EVO repeater built in, or additional specialized EVOs.

I think there are enough abilities and interactions. It's possible, but I do wish I'm given access to counter scrolls should it occur.

Well the rumors so far speak of "6 pages" so Hacking must be meatier than the 1 page (1,5) it is now.

Well you see the Ariadnans are obviously the dwarfs of the faction, since they get to skip most/all of the effects of hacking. Perhaps the opposing defensive hacker will get to use a firewall 1/2/3 times per game too, there's your scroll

Indeed, streamlining Hacking Rules and adding more fun tricks to how Hackers work would be excellent. They're already cool and useful units, but giving them an interesting kit of tricks could be fun.

Kinda like if anyone has played Blacklight : Retribution. They have these grenades that are like the digital version of smoke grenades. When people toss them out they cause a dome of complete glitchy mess.

Oooh, yeah, I like that, pretty spiffy. And most everyone but Ariadna is going to be using some kind of electronic target enhancing visuals so it makes sense.

Despite being the 'low-tech' Faction. It would be nice to see them get a couple toys the developed from stealing other people's stuff.

And an Archaic TAG. Like a Dreadnaught crossed with the Loader from Aliens.

Only in Merovigian sectorial, they also have hairy TAG stand ins, but I do understand people wanting their own TAG.

They can take mine, if they give me their SK/WB.

I already know I'll loathe new hacking rules. My glorious defensive hackers versus Nomad's best... it's shall be silly, unless scrolls are involved.
