Yeah, there were a few things they pointed out that came to pass, but it wasn't very obvious unless you were there right then. The Chovar and Helfather were mentioned to potentially not end up restic, but it was like in the comments or something.

They just need to work on communication and get those hard plastics hammered out (that's how you make plastic models right? with hammers?) and we'll be golden.

Okay, I got a ton of stuff in the mail today. My Deadzone stuff, my Black Friday stuff from Miniature Market, and some stuff from Shae Konnit.

Anyway, I just looked over my Deadzone stuff and I believe I can safely say that I am not missing any figures. I [i[am[/i] however missing a Scenery 6.1 sprue from my Fortifications set and I only had 5 dice. I did notice some damage to a few figure bits though. My dancing goblin sniper's rifle broke (it's REALLY thin), one of the Reb Drone flight stands broke, and one of the drones is really badly miscast. It looks like a dog chewed it up. Other than that, it looks like everything is there and in good shape.

My sniper's gun broke as well. It's an easy fix, as you can just treat the gun barrel as a pin - I think they used a paper clip to model it.

Yeah, I figured it would probably be an easy fix. I'm not quite so sure about the drone stands though. Regardless, I do need to get that one drone replace entirely and see if I can get that missing scenery sprue. What's the best way to contact them for that? Through the Kickstarter or through their website?

Use the order query form under contact us on mantics site.
That's now the recommended way but not sure how quick they will reply, there 95% done on the ks orders so hopefully not too long.

Your last point is especially laughable and comical, because not only the 7th ed Valkyrie shown dumber things (like being able to throw the troopers without parachutes out of its hatches, no harm done) - Irbis

Seems like they have been aware of this information for quite some time, but until now I don't recall hearing anything about it. Did I just miss it?

According to the search I just ran on my e-mail there is no mention of a Sorak between Update #84 (June 2nd) and Update #125 (11 Dec).

I do remember reading it before update 125, but I don't know where (probably KS comments or on the Mantic blog somewhere). I've done a similar email search and turned up the same results as you.

A quick note for those getting their Mantic Deadzone (Antenociti's Workshop) scenery packs:

The 'military-bundle' pack had a wrong list of contents on some of the KS information, listing 4 "weapons lockers" instead of 4 "weapons stations".

This pack therefore includes 3 Weapons Lockers and 4 Weapons Stations (not 4 Weapons Lockers and 2 Weapons Stations).

@Baragash: I definitely got 3 sets of assault arms, more Mantic free bits FTW!

I think the best game would be to see if any one Kickstarter package is the same as another. I think that given the number of packages and the amount of stuff that some people have ordered, as well as the Skeletal staff at Mantic that mis-packs were largely inevitable. When this happened with my KOW KS (just a few bits) it was rectified very quickly, but given the time of year I think that people have to be patient with getting any replacements. Or you could, of course, cut Mantic a break and just get them put in with your 2nd wave.

This is great, as we actually come out ahead an extra item this way (and I'd rather have 4 weapons stations than 4 lockers). Thanks for clearing that up.

Mantic tried to claim the value of the giant, heavy brown box that says mantic games on the side cost $20.00 CAD. Apparently our customs department took one look at the shipment and put a hold on it.

I'm currently working with FedEx to try and get the package released. But really.... $20.00 for a massive box."

I'm pretty sure it's everyone's.

I had a message from FedEx saying the package got declined by customs and they're looking for a receipt or proof of purchase.
I hope that Mantic doesn't get in trouble for this.

Mantic have done that before, they declare the rest of the value of the package on the second shipment.

I don't think they can really get in "trouble". They will just send the package back and Mantic will they will (Mantic) have to pay to ship it again with the correct value tagged to it.

According to a post by James on Facebook, it's not the $20 that is the issue but that some of the packages were not marked as "gifts".

Thats a pretty big mistake then, especially when that was their "plan" to get it through customs. I really like mantic, and I want to love them, but sometimes I feel like they have more problems than any professional company ever should have. We all cut them slack with all the mispacks and everything else, saying its a large order and whatever, but if I had these kind of blunders at my job, I would be fired. No two ways about it. We do "big" orders all the time, and are expected to get it right the first time every time, and for the most part we do.

Obviously, I'm still buying from them, but sometimes its just painful to watch.

Given the individualized nature of the orders and the all hands on deck approach Mantic takes (i.e., a lot of people packing who don't usually), I don't fret the mispacks too much. Of 4 KS shipments, I've had 3 where I've gotten extra bags of things and only this one was I short a bag (but got extra bags as well). I'd rather take the chance of being a bag short and having Mantic catch up at a later time than spend 3 months fulfilling orders and still having a good amount of feth-ups ala another Cool Miniatures company on KS.

Regarding the Customs issues, one thing I've learned from KS comments is shipping to Canada is a crap shoot. Those folks (customs) are serious up there and it seems that even if you think you're doing it right, you're not. It seems extremely difficult to ship to Canada without either having a Customs issue or forcing the customer to dig deep into their wallet. I can't fault Mantic on this one, because one of the following scripts would have played out regardless of how they shipped given how much they shipped:

1. Box marked as Gift for $20 - Customs Agent says this is worth more than $20, we're [sending it back/give us more money]
2. Box marked as Commerce for $20 - Customs Agent says this is worth more than $20, we're [sending it back/give us more money]
3. Box marked as Gift for $150 - Customer XYZ says 'WTF Mantic, I had to pay ABC dollars to Courier/Customs/somebody and would never have pledged if I knew you were going to use a courier or mark as $150"
4. Box marked as Commerce for $150 - Customer XYZ says 'WTF Mantic, I had to pay ABC dollars to Courier/Customs/somebody and would never have pledged if I knew you were going to use a courier or mark as $150"

Check your e-mail for a different tracking number. They sent me two. One never left. One left and was delivered.

You may not have much to worry about there - that's what my tracking info said the entire time - until the box showed up at my house yesterday!

I only got one tracking number and checked it religiously. If you don't get another tracking number, just do the same. It will be to you the day after it leaves Nottingham. If it doesn't, it's likely your local Fedex's fault. They saved my delivery for last the day it was due in. I wasn't very happy. Or patient.

Turns out I didn't get the paper mat either. I only got the nice, mousepad-style mat.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I have two tracking numbers that get checked in the morning and throughout the day. Probably pointless after noon though as that's 6 over there.

Yep, nothing done. I figure I'll be like Alpharius and just have the box randomly show up.

I should point out that of these, only #4 does not involve Mantic committing fraud.

I think it went to N/A because the alternative was a bogus date that was impossible to meet.

Not necessarily; KS rewards are rather different in that they're rewards for an investment; they technically only have to put the raw material cost for production (which could easily be $20 for just some paper and plastic, as most of the cost is the steel mold tooling and such)... and come to think of it, a KS pledge reward is technically a gift, right?
