Well, it's been a few years since they came out with those bluetooth headphones, I guess they needed something new to make people look like silly douches.

It is also easier for them to say it was an 'Accident' or 'not on purpose' and such.
I see someone wearing those around my wains those things are getting smashed.
That line of reasonning applies to every single image capting device ever invented. I guess paint brushes and canvas were also invented for 'paedos' ...

Reductio ad absurdum, eh?
I disagree. If someone set up an easel and started painting a picture of your kids I think it would be much more noticeable than someone who just happens to be looking in their general direction.
They look like absolute gak, which doesn't help. I think I'll wait a few years until graphene-based technology is well under way, and the thing is like a wireless contact lens or something. As it stands, Google Glass is at a stage equivalent to 'brick' mobile phones, in that, yes, it's futuristic and modern, but it also makes you look like a giant tosser if seen with one.
I wouldn't be seen dead with bluetooth headset. Unless, of course, I accidentally placed one over my ear one day and a group of right-thinking citizens beat me to death.
I don't even have an iPhone yet. They're still at the stage where it's mostly trendy spankers who own them and sit flicking them and generally fething around with them instead of paying attention to their surroundings. When that changes I'll probably get one. I have an iMac at home and love it more than my son.
Wow, never saw so much concentrated hate in dakkadakka, you learn every day I guess.
That's a new technologic road, it's suppose to get the technology we already have a little bit less in our way, enhance our capabilities.
And for whom who's only opinion on an upcoming technology is to just associate early adopters to pedophiles and douchbags, I will choose one hundred time to discuss with those douches than with judgmental cavern-men. (My turn to be judgmental but I think it's a bit more backup.)
As for me and the hobby, I can't wait to watch battle reports or painting/building tutorials made with those, having the player/artiste exact point of view will be a very nice functionality.
Yeah, I am glad my mindset isn't immediately "How will pedophiles use this?" when confronted with new technology.
Augmented Reality is coming, and this is the first quasi affordable piece. It's the future, and I think it's going to be dope. We just need to get the auto driven cars first.

It so charitable of you to engage them in conversation. You know, the kind of conversation that isn't private-but-shouted-in-public-nevertheless type of conversation? I wish I had the patience...

I would feel incredibly awkward having a chat with my glasses in the middle of a street, I also don't really see the point of them. Granted I am perhaps the only person of my age to have never owned a cell phone. Nice idea but I will wait until the technology has progressed a little further methinks.
Oh, reality, why do you cheapen our science fiction dreams?
Seriously, this feels like it should be inspiring, but the only application people seem to think about are checking their email more easily or being able to spam social media even quicker.
edit: also, yeah, you look like a tool, wearing that thing.

Some people get distracted enough using a cellphone when driving, I can't imagine what sort of impact these are going to have on people who already struggle to concentrate on the road.

That's actually causing them to be banned in certain places, and it's also a concern Google itself has adressed; "Treat these as though they were a cell phone, don't use them on the road".
It's also supposed to have some sort of trouble with people who had Lasik at some point, though nothing concrete has come up.
Also, I'm kinda surprised more people aren't thinking these are awesome; we can finally be Sci Fi
I've never feared Death or Dying. I've only feared never Trying.
This looks tacky, also voice recognition tech sounds like a bad idea and it seems like this could distract people even more (which could be dangerous). If I had one of these I would be constantly snapping pics of pretty women or going though my erotic material.
The best new way to sound like you have tourettes syndrome........or are just schizophrenic.
