Subject: Maki Games - Modular Wargaming Terrain Kickstarter. Sci-Fi Barriers Upgrade and Reward at $45,000
Well, depends on how thick they are and how they're handled. But there's always a risk with anything long and slender like that, just metal can be bent back into shape if it does go wonky where as plastic would generally either snap or need serious work to straighten out if it did somehow warp.
With the stretch goal set at 45,000$ we will unlock all the accessories shown in the first picture: the roadblock barrier, the sci-fi handrail and the short sci-fi handrail for the balcony sides.
This upgrade will also include a reward for all pledge levels starting from Rookie!
FREE sci-fi handrails for each backer from Rookie to King!
The number of free handrails is shown in the second picture.

Seems correct, and the tower modules can be swapped as a theme.
On main page look at SCIFI/GOTHIC TOWER THEME
In the end you will be able to mix and match all the themes depending on your stretch goal.

If my Ranger pledge comes with 12 terrain elements, and you break that down to 2 x 5 terrain elements from 2 different themes, what happens to the other two elements (2 x 5 = 10 but up there should be 12, right?)

I asked that in the KS comments, they said they intended to have the freebies be fixed to Makitainers only, but now they're reconsidering that. Stay tuned!

In all honesty, only the gothic cathedral theme interests me in this. I was a little disappointed when they moved the goalposts for that, I'll admit, but if they hit the new stretchgoals for the cathedral, I'll probably go in big.

But GW and Pegasus both already make that!

They're not that far off, given the figures we're talking about and the pledges so far today. Though I've not been paying close attention, busy day at work. Intend to go over things when I get chance this evening.

I've got the Pegasus one - it's very nice. I never got around to buying the GW stuff, and at its current prices, I never will.
I've also made several attempts at casting up the cathedral from Hirst Arts. Never got around to more than halfway done with just the casting, it's too big a project for me.
I'm an absolute sucker for cathedrals ...

This is our Kickstarter Exclusive Metal Streetlight! Will be unlocked as an add-on at 53,000$ and we plan to add a few as a Free Reward in one of the mini-stretch goals.
Tonight I am working on organizing the incredible amount of material I have on my laptop to define the list of future stretch goals.
A small present for those backers who play in a grim dark future: after the Square Floor Reward we will unlock the Landing Platform!
Here are some renders of its concept model
Today the GPUs of our architect are burning for a serious render. Something that will dwarf even the render for the futuristic motel/prison. Wondering if that hotel is in California

The Loyalty Reward 2.0 brings lots of free Add-Ons, including some Free KS exclusive streetlights. It also unlocks the ladder which can be inserted in the side holes of each floor.
The preview shows the doors of the two future industrial themes (standard and high).
We are almost at the octagonal landing platform!
Let's see if a sneak peak helps to unlock the platform
Unlocking the platform does not mean you will be able to use it ONLY as a platform.
The cathedral in the picture can be assembled using the landing platform, the cathedral walls and a triangular floor that will be added to the stretch goal list tomorrow.

Subject: Maki Games - Sci-Fi Modular Terrain Kickstarter. $62,000 UPGRADE SCI-FI FLOOR - 2 days to go
Since we unlocked the platform and we reached the 60,000$ mark we will upgrade the stairs to an even more modular system.
The previous stairs element will be replaced by the new modular stairs. This new element is shown in the first 2 pictures and is composed by 2 "half stair".
Now you will be able to combine 3 "half stair" to reach the roof of high themes such as Cathedral and Sci-Fi High Wall.
Using one "half stair" you will be able to connect a standard theme with a high one.

Maki Games wrote:in the previous update we have shown the new modular stairs but by mistake we used a version that was not final.
The final version will still be modular i.e. made by 2 parts, but will still have the same steepness and railings of the stairs we have shown so far in all our pictures.
I will send a new update when I get the correct pictures.
So, some different pictures should be up soon. Hopefully this will confirm that everything is still right with the KS as there was a small blip earlier.
As for the stairs themselves, I like the modularity that they introduce. Though I also like the steeper stairs that were shown incorrectly
I'm curious to see how the Maki KS, Deadzone KS, Antenociti, Proxie Models, and the horde of MDF laser cutters emerging change the way our sci-fi tables look. The options for non-grimdark have gotten better... now for the wait :(
I'm really hoping for a last minute burst to get us to industrial, otherwise I'll have to go makitainer and cover up all the gothic detail with green stuff... I've pledged enough so i could pick sci-fi large or cathedral instead though, you never know I might change my mind and go for something like that and get more industrial once they release it.
Anyone know if we'll be able to add more after the kickstarter? If i decide to go with the makitainers I might chip in the diffrence so I can get the suhi bar.
