wow... you guys have no sense of occaison or suspense, do you? Does GW have to publish everything a month before its due to be pre-sold just to get you to buy it? Does every teaser video have to be as dull and revealing as every movie trailer now?

/rant

I like the new Masters, may even grab one or two. Still a bit apprehensive about a new Apocalypse game.

Here's to hoping that the master of the Assault and Devastator companies let you take their companies' specialties as troops.

The Assault master could be an easy stand in for Astroth for those who don't want to use the real model.

The master of the devastators could also be one of the "captains" for a space marine legion. I might pick one up just for that purpose.

I am actually excited for this release. With new Apoc. and GW lowering prices on the digital releases for codex in the non-ibook format, things are looking up.

This would be a great idea. Especially if Apoc goes the way of 'only Troops can hold objectives'. I would love to see this happen, so that more people bring such units to Apoc games....but if this was the case there would have to be a rework of how Destroyer weapons are handled. Right now only troops like Tervigons with EW through Biomancy, Daemons and unlocked Termies via special character can hold objectives past one Destroyer shot.

Is it me or is it strange that they have used a FW model in a GW promo?? I know technically its the same company but don't recall seeing FW models in a teaser before.
So are we seeing a plastic war hound or is GW saying yes you can use all the FW goodies??

Masters I'm a bit hmm on them

Considering Forgeworld is the main source for apocalypse only units, it makes sense to put them in an apocalypse teaser.

Wasn't the Thunderhawk in the parting shot a few White Dwarf's back too? It caused an uproar of 'OMG it's a Plastic Thunderhawk' which turned out to be not the case.

Is that a pic of a baneblade with the new generic box art that we saw with the Eldar release and the words Baneblade/Shadowsword underneath it. Has that been repackaged as a dual kit with a 5-15% increas or something?

Oh, I certainly vote with my dollar, but the problem is that that is not enough. The problem with the 'vote with your dollar' response is that it doesn't take into account why we're not buying the product. I want to enjoy 40k enough to buy back in. It was my introduction to traditional games, and there was a time when I enjoyed it very much. I want to buy 40k, but Gamesworkshop is doing their very best to push me away, and simply not buying their product won't tell them that.

Blurry as it may be it looks pretty cool to me. Definitely a ctan-ish shape in the middle there in my opinion.

The name has been said to be the Tesseract Vault.

The Space Marine characters look nice, though they are not particularly needed. But it is always nice to have more choice for character models. The Master of Relics will make an excellent devastor sergeat in the case vanilla devastators will be reasonably priced in the next codex.

This being Apoc release though, I was hoping for something a bit more gargantuan. It would be really odd if there would be no new and huge imperial plastic kit. I understand them not wanting to duplicate FW models, but an imperial knight titan would make perfect sense.

That Master of Rites looks far too similar to an Imperial version of the Dark Apostle. The Master of the Marches I like, purely because of the cherub. I agree that the Master of Relics looks too much like a Veteran Sergeant. I think I might use the Lord Executioner as an assault Sergeant though.

These new marines; why are they so static in pose? Surely it can't simply be to make sure that they get through the finecast casting phase with less chance of bubbles?

Wait, wait, wait. Are you saying that GW tells that minis to stand still during casting so as not to introduce defects?

Why would a static pose change the level of defects? Detail or any number of other things would but 'looking like you're standing still'... Yikes.

They'll look more dynamic once the bubbles twist them into new positions. And battlescaring from trimming off the excess flash.

The new marines look like they are meant to have an inspiring effect vs. being beasts in combat, except for the executioner.

I actually look the look of the Megalith. It has a terrifying ancient alien engine of war look more then space-egypt look, which is a key problem with Newcrons.

I agree. If you painted Thousand Sons and Newcrons in the same color scheme and put them side-by-side, they can look like they fit in with one another.

The point of a teaser is to build excitement about a new product.

This teaser shows us a bunch of models that GW have been selling for a decade.

Woo, er, yay...?
