Man, this may be my inner imperial fist talking but I have to say, I like the look of the new guns that are coming out. Dem guns!

So do you guys like this new stuff? People at my local GW are saying it's just another cash grab, but I genuinely like it!

what do you think?

413th Lucius Exterminaton Legion- 4,000pts

Atalurnos Fleetbreaker's Akhelian Corps- 2500pts

anyone who says a company putting out new stuff is a "cash grab" is an idiot. all companies want your money.

And this should be multiple choice. I like it, but I had hoped there would be xenos scenery as well.

I haven't seen the guns yet, do you have a link to a picture or something?

It looks stupid, like most of GW's new releases. I might use the rules if they're good enough, but I'm going to make my own models.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I like them, especially with fewer dead Cadians on them.

Much too rich for my blood but if they were cheaper... and I had less crap already, yeah I'd buy them.

I like them, but I'm a bit miffed that you have to actually buy them to get the rules. This means that you can't just think "I'll have a look at the rules, if it's worth it then I'll get one" so you're forced to buy it to make such a decision, and also prevents people from building their own, such as Xenos equivalents.

I like them, wish they'd done xenos instead, though.
And I wish the price was lower... but 2 Quad Icarus Cannons... dang I want that.

My only problem with them is that they're going to be harder to convert to Chaos than the previous ones... So much Imperial iconography it's not funny...

You could deface it in the name of Chaos... scrape the Aquila up and such. Should look proper.

Well, looking at the main point, most of these were designed with Apocalypse in mind. It makes sense for them to take a shortcut, rather than making a whole new FAQ for the current 40k rulebook.

You mean opening the FAQ document, adding in what they typed up to put in the boxes, saving, and posting it? Yeah that's way harder .

I guess that why Warmahordes is such an unpopular game...

/sarcasm

I actually wouldn't mind more models coming with some sort of rules cards, like back with 2nd edition. sometimes it would be nice to not have to lug the book all around..

Hey, no one says that it's a great idea, but it's an idea nonetheless. Besides, there is no rule that says that they have to update the FAQs. Just be glad they decided to give us them for regular 40k games, and they aren't exclusively Apocalypse fortifications. At this point in the game, it's too early to tell what their final decision will be. Most likely, I still see them popping them in the FAQ anyhow.

Yaknow, the rules will probably be in the apocalypse book for the 40k as well.

The rules in the kit are just for preorders, and from that point on WONT be there.

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

Nope, it says that the Apocalypse Rules for it are in the Apocalypse book.

If you want to use it in regular games of 40K, that's where the rules included in the box jump in.

There is a difference between making a product that is a cash grab and being a company that wants to make cash.

For example, if you make a cannon that is completely overpowered, ruining the game, making everyone need one so that you can compete on who takes out the other guy's cannon first and then devastate the rest of his army, then that's a cash grab.

Of course they wanna make money, but there are smart ways of doing it, and then there are ways where you simply force your playerbase to buy it until they get tired of you.

On topic, I do like the looks, but I guess that's because they fit perfectly with the SoB easthetic.

For anyone that is wondering what it's all about:

It's a cash grab, that's for sure, but then so are most things that GW, and many other companies for that matter, release. And, besides, just because it's a cash grab, doesn't mean you can't like it.

I like them, but I would of preffered if they'd kept a consistant theme between the planesrike terrain and this, the planetstrike terrain had a very nice thing going on and wasn't in your face with the skuls and stuff.

The new stuff looks awesome. At the same time some Xenos stuff wouldn't have hurt either. A giant Orky Kannon type thing would have been pretty neat. Still, not like I can afford it anyway, so it doesn't really matter to me I guess.
