Hey guys,
Just wanted to see your opinions on what the
most competitive army is at the moment.
It would also be good if you left a reply saying
what build it is, and at what point levels.

I can see it now....Nids are now a collection of autonomous hive fleets there are multiple Hive Minds and they all war with one another in addition to everyone else. They speak to humans using telepathy, and they can now ally with Space Wolves as battle brothers, because reasons.
Tyranids talking to humans would be like you talking to your mashed potatoes or the probiotic in your kiefer drink. It is neither possible nor productive. Inside my mind I pinched my nipples and savored his bitter silence.

I would say Tau.
Eldar and Tau do well against the rest of the armies (pretty much equal in that matter),
so I guess the question is which army will win a game between each other. My minor experience would say Tau, since they laugh at all the cover saves that Eldar rely on.

The armies are pretty well balanced.
Jimsolo wrote:Some armies are easier to learn how to play than others, however, which leads to faster mastery over the most effective play styles for that codex, and is partially responsible for the misconception that some armies are more powerful. In addition, as a game which constantly grows and changes, 40k frequently sees alterations to an army's play style or to the rules in general, which require adaptation to successfully integrate or combat (as the case may be.) Players who are unable to find the new strategies that they need to use, or unwilling to change their tactics at all, can sometimes come to the erroneous conclusion that their codex is 'underpowered' because it is 'outdated.'
I've been hearing lots of talk about the sky falling for Tyranids players, but haven't had a chance to see it for myself yet.

Blood angels of course. Ever since 6th edition dropped ive had a huge win streak. Assault armies just blow away all types of gun based lists now. And blood angels get assault marines as troops! Just imagine 30 assault marines coming at you with a few whirlwinds backing them up. Terrifying prospect! My favorite is blood angels allied with orks. So much assault the enemy cant do anything about it. Im extremely surprised to see so much hate towards them and why people think there noncompetitive. Blood angels get my vote!

Chaos Daemons are nasty but only really when you take Fleshounds, DP spam, Fateweaver, LoC, two small units of pink horrors to hide in cover, and/or screamerstar. Khorne in general is a sub par choice, Tzeentch has two meh-dud level units and one horrendous unit, Slaanesh has daemonettes and seekers, as well as slaaneshi daemon princes, and nurgle is thhis odd stage where almost all of his stuff is decent-good but nothing really shines as competitive. Also, the codex is rather gimmicky, rather complicated for a beginner to play, and is incredibly random relying on an extremely expensive model that can be ID with S10 weapons.
Tau and Eldar are pretty much up there with both being hard for me to pick from. Not only do they have a devestating combo of Taudar and Eldau but they also each can work extremely well on their own. Tau can use the buffmander and riptides along with sniper kroot, battlesuits, crisis suits, Farseer star, and their pathfinders to devestating effectiveness. They also have a nasty supplement. Eldar also are devestating with many above average units, a broken and easily spammable unit (more than any other army) in terms of their Wave Serpents and have many S10 guns as well as pseudo rending not to mention quite a couple ID weapons. They also are nasty allying with DE giving them a vast amount of diversity and devestation not to mention a nasty supplement as well, and if you wish, probably one of the best escalation units to pick.

neither tau , nor eldar get very good without ally. demons on the other hand are good as mono lists. At all other times I would say that some sort of taudar or eldark are best , depends a lot on the tables terrain set up.

Has to be Eldar. I don't win every game I play Biel Tan style with loads of aspects but I can literally put together 6 lists at 1850 that play completely different and 4 of them are crazy competitive.
That's with out weak ass jetseer/lolseer/mantarch crap. That I have no nor will ever play.

Competition implies the other side has a chance.
Thus, in my opinion, Tau and Eldar are the least competitive.

Eldar bikes, Eldar bikes, Eldar bikes.
You can't stand on objectives because they will plow your fields.
You can't jump on the point last turn because they will be there too and contest it. So at best, nobody gets any objective based points. At worst, the eldar player gets them all.

I'll throw my chips in with the Tau. 6th edition supports a large firebase and our skimmers can zip around lickidy split. The combination of good saves and superior firepower make for quite the formidable opponent. And with CC being weak, and being on the short list of Tau weaknesses, I can usually mow anyone down from a distance and not worry about any nasties getting closer than 6" to my Tau.
Then again, deep striking can wreak havoc and Tau have no defense against psykers. Tau do have an easy access to weaponry that can kill TEQ units with the cheap plasma available.

Tau with Eldar allies is the most competitive build in the game right now. It's what all of the WAAC nerds take to tournaments because it has the highest likelihood of winning requiring the least possible tactical prowess. My cat could beat my Tyranids with a Taudar list. And he died. Three years ago.
With 'competitive' in this case being in the 'press one button to win' sense, which I think is that the OP was driving at.
