Boom! Leman Russ Commander

Hi guys,
What's that one army you'd really love a shot at, but have never had the opportunity to play against.
In my club, we're pretty diverse. I've played Tau, SM, BA and GK, my friends between themselves have played Nids, Eldar, DE, GK, 'crons, DA, SW and Guard.
The one army I'd really like to play with my current competitive list is Orks. I wreck orks so long as I get to shoot at them, but once they're in combat with me, well, not only does the battlesuit's natural power in close combat come to light, but it's an even fight.
I usually find that combat when one throws out as many as 48 dice without the charge but assuming no casualties, is quite bloody and usually resolved in one turn. On the other hand, I also find that dedicated combat units crump me.
But then there's orks. Orkses are great because orkses with shootas can't decide if they're choppy or shooty, so they do both pretty admirably. a lot of them die to overwatch (8), a few to I10 extra attacks (6) a few to farsight (3) few die to drones (3), quite a few to battlesuits (6). (my math is approximate, it probably ends up being about ~2 lower). By the time the orkses get into assault, they hit me for 36 attacks, which is 24 hits, 12 wounds and 6 dead drones (8 to choppas). I still win combat by a massive 10, meaning that the remaining 4-6 orks are on LD1.
It's all well and good to say that, but I've only killed 180 points, right? there's still 5 more of those waiting for me. I really like that kind of impossible odds.
So, dakka. What's that one army you'd really love to play against, but never get to?

Chaos Demons have always interested me, and I've never even seen them on the tabletop let alone played against them. Apparently they're supposed to be really weird with lots of rolling on tables and psychic powers flying everywhere. It makes me curious.
And also they're supposed to be good against Tau, so I'd be curious to see what it is that makes them that way.

It's a little funny that my arch-nemisis and most elusive opposing army are Nids. They are the only army I have a negative win-loss ratio against, but I've only ever played them a handful of times. I love the challenge of dealing with the bigger bugs while also the swarm of little ones, and vice versa, and the imagery of the army is also awesome. I haven't played them enough to work out how to beat them, so it's always a tough fight even when I do win.
I've also never faced DE or CD. Other than that, I've owned or played the all others.

Dark Eldar and Sisters of Battle are obviously scarce, and I'd like to have a match against both. I used to have a few games against DE 2 years ago, until the owner of the mentioned army vanished like warp dust into atmosphere.

I've only played against Dark Eldar once, SOB once, Eldar once, and 1.1 times against Nids. I say .1 times cause the guy conceded within 5 minutes of the game.
Aside from those 4 I've played against every other army at least a few times.

I'm expecting an Imperial Knights supplement dedicated to GW's loyalist apologetics. Codex: White Knights "In the grim dark future, everything is fine."
"The argument is that we have to do this or we will, bit by bit,
lose everything that we hold dear, everything that keeps the business going. Our crops will wither, our children will die piteous
deaths and the sun will be swept from the sky."

This reminds me I really need to start visiting an FLGS to play with random people. Well, I'm going to grab my second Chaos Rhino this week, so my list will be finally complete.
I frequently play in alliance/against Necrons, DA and Tyranids. I've seen SM, IG, Eldar, Dark Eldar and Orks too.

The guys in my local game group play DE, BA/ GK, IG, Orks, Tyranids, and AS.
I still haven't ever played against Eldar (not that I'm particularly sad about that).

There is a guy who plays Taudar in the worst way (I jokingly call it the "Cheese Platter")
I have a plan to crush the army using Anti cover weapons against him (he cowars in a corner behind an ADL, using riptides and such, with elder bike swarms and other things rushing around)
But every time im ready for battle, hes not there or already has a game. Or Im painting a model and don't have the rest of my army.
I've faced him before the Cheese platter Taudar combo with only Eldar and have won, lost, and tied against him, but he seems to always win (sometimes barly) with his Cheese Platter, against Space Marines of different kinds, Eldar (solo), Grey Knights, Orks, etc.
Hopefully at some point Ill be ready and he will be there so I can smash his winning streak. smash the marker lights with colossus rounds, and exterminate the rest with Erradicator blasts. everything else will fall. Heck might even bring in Escalation to hit it home, a Shadowsword or the one with the huge ST 10 ap 2 no cover blast will ruin his day.

But that's something I learnt from the forums. I've never played against Daemons myself

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

You want to play against orks with tau? Other than because you'd want the easiest possible victory couldn't I see that being much of the reason.
I do agree with the general sentiment that foot lists are much more fun to play against than mech or MC lists. It's especially great when two foot lists face off against each other, especially if they're both hordes.
But now we have 6th edition and tau. Not that foot lists were exactly popular before that either, but that's the army I don't get to play against and wish I did more often. Watching a triptide list face off against a flying circus again doesn't strike me as terribly epic, interesting, or grimdark.

I've barely played against Nids since I left my home town back in 2008, and only once since one of my buddies stopped playing the game in 2011. I've actually played more games against Sisters than I have against Tyranids in 6th edition, although still very few. Daemons have become my most common opponent, when I barely saw them at all in 5th edition.

Yeah, come to think of it, with one exception, I haven't played against a tyranid player since 4th edition. The sometimes-sisters player had a field day with exorcists in 5th, though, so I definitely got some play against that.
Jimsolo wrote:I'd love to play Chaos Daemons that AREN'T Nurgle.
I'd love to play against anything chaos that wasn't nurgle. I've gone up against slaanesh a few times, but the CSM player in question also owns a flying bakery, so guess which sees more play.

You know, I think I played against every army. Even Sisters. Though only once.
Now WHFB on the other hand, there's a few armies I haven't played against.
Orcs. I've played against Night Goblins, which is part of the O&G book, but never Orcs themselves.
Beastmen. Never faced them. Want to, but never have.
Demons. Faced 40k demons, not Fantasy demons.
Bretonnians. Nada.
I barely recall fighting TK.
Don't think I've fought High Elves either. Wood Elves, Dark Elves, but not High Elves.
