Subject: New Deathmark rules - possible loophole?

Let’s say a unit of Deathmarks joined by an Independent Character with a Veil of Darkness arrives from Deep Strike Reserve on a friendly turn (NOT using the "Ethereal Interception" rule). They fire, making use of the "Hunters From Hyperspace" rule. On the following turn, the unit uses the Veil and successfully Deep Strikes elsewhere.
If the unit fires the turn they use the Veil, can they again use the "Hunters" rule?
They did Deep Strike to arrive at their new position, but the "Hunters" rule activates when the unit arrives from Deep Strike Reserve.
Is a unit repositioning on the table using the Deep Strike rules the same thing as arriving from Deep Strike Reserve?

Well, the previous codex had a FAQ that told you that you could only mark 1 target per game, but seeing as the HfH rule itself got toned down pretty hard (2+ to wound on the turn they arrive rather than the entire game) I think it's a rule change rather than a loophole. You can't really get an item that allows them to do it every turn anymore.

You don't have to be happy when you lose, just don't make winning the condition of your happiness. |

This is the exact same question. It went on for 8 oages before a mode locked it.
The basic argument came down to
Yes, you use all the rules for Deep Strike and as such go into Deep Strike Reserve.
No, you cannot follow all the rules for Deep Strike (such as not all models having the Deep Strike rule), and there is no rule telling you to place them in Reserves.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.
Orks always ride in single file to hide their strength and numbers.

Id allow that. They'd be back in reserve and haven't used the ability yet. But as to the OP, no, redeployment via DS =/= coming in from reserves.

Actually if you wanted to get cute:
If a Night Scythe is destroyed, the units embarked upon it suffer no damage or ill effects – instead they are immediately placed into Ongoing Reserves.
Also if the embark and leave the table and come back in from ongoing reserves.
Hunters from Hyperspace: During the player turn in which this unit arrives from Deep Strike Reserve, all shooting attacks made by the Deathmarks in this unit will wound on To Wound rolls of 2+, regardless of the victim’s Toughness.
The only save in grace here is it says during the player turn instead of during a player turn. So it will only happen once.

Wait, do you mean have them embark into a Night Scythe?
...
Can we do that again?
